Depends on if he's used to being punched, how he takes a punch, if he's sober, if it hurt, etc.

I've been in a street fight where I stood there for the first few times I got hit because the adrenaline didn't let me feel the pain and I was assessing the situation as it was happening (looking at the rest of his crew that had weapons etc). I didn't fall down, but it bought me a few seconds of "wtf?" reactions and the attacker kind of took a step back.

In this case, I don't know anything about that guy and he might just be slow to react or dazed, or drunk.

Me though i'm an analytic person and I have a boxing and military background so I am processing information as an altercation progresses differently than others most likely.

The video seemed kind of in slow motion it seemed but in real time you don't have that long to react between punches either especially if they are snapping your head back.

Alright who are your favorite old school bare knuckled boxers? That bare knuckled John L Sullivan led era is my favorite in boxing history. Along with John L Sullivan here's some of my other favorites.

      John L. Sullivan

      James J. Corbett

      Peter Jackson

      Jack Dempsey
      Bartley Gorman:

Said to be one of the greatest bare knuckle fighters in history. His great grandfather once fought the great Jem Mace. He sadly died in 2002, but he was undefeated and hailed as: "The King of the Gypsies" for 20 years. He is the cousin of Big John Fury, Tyson's father.

Shane Meadows, one of Britain's greatest screenwriters, famous for the: "This is England" series, did a short film on him for Channel 4 back in 1995. Shane knew him personally, as he was friends with Bartley's son. It's Shane's dream to one day make a feature length biopic of Bartley's incredible life.

      Here's his Wikipedia page:

      Here's Shane's short film from 1995:

Here's his autobiography, completed just before his death in 2002:

I've literally read the book about 20 times. He was a remarkable man. I urge you to purchase it. You won't be disappointed. Included in the book are: very rare photographs, and a brief history of the all time greats from the birth of the sport.

      Enjoy.

I'd rather be a fan of Jackie Chan, Batman, Spiderman or Kimbo Slice

at least with them you got something to watch and root for.

with these dinosaur mofos you got nothing

aside from a record in a book and your own delirious imagination
It's true. Nobody today has seen Harry Greb fight. But there's plenty of respected people who did see him fight, who have passed on their accounts. We also know who he beat. And there's footage available of some of the guys who he beat. So we know that he was truly a remarkable fighter.

I have a friend on another forum. And he was asked the same quetion that you did.

        He gave a great answer:

"I've never seen a tornado first hand in the flesh. But I've seen the devastation that it left behind"

No that would be ridiculous. Those were the top guys at the time I began following boxing. They had that warrior style that I loved and still do.

"Seeing" a fighter is a relatively modern phenomena. There were generations of fans who "heard" fighters. The way we get to love a fighter we have not seen is to see the fighter's influences. Never saw Choyinsky but he actually taught a great deal to Jack Johnson. We know Choyinsky bas a mensch, he beat jj once...We know JJ, a man who did not give a compliment easily, had a lot of good to say about Choyinsky.

I never met James Figg...but I know how much I despise killing for egotistical reasons. its known that Figg could cut you in many ways and chose not to... knowing what I do about the blade arts and boxing I can imagine Figg converting the techniques of italian Fencing to hand techniques...its in the technique of the early fighters if one knows what to look for.
