No - Stiverne tested positive for a banned substance per the rules of VADA, just like Povetkin.

The fight went ahead as sanctioned, because Povetkin did not protest.

I'm sure if Stiverne didn't protest, the fight would have went ahead as forward, and the WBC would have determined later, had Stiverne had lost, whether or not he should lose his position in the WBC per the failed drug test.

If they determined the amount was so low, that it could have been from a tainted substance, or really come from anywhere - then Stiverne still got paid, and HIS MANHOOD would be intact.

Nope - he's a manatee that has had a blowtorch taken to it, with a wig of kinky pubes and a vagina.

He's dead to me as a boxer. After this thread, I will not recognize his existence. No respect for a man that is GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE BY HIS OPPONENT! Only for you to pull out, and not grant that same respect.

You realize how you sound by giving legitimacy to "what the lawyers and promoters say"? Jesus - the state of boxing is sad..

That's a good point, but now he has no money for it. And we know how long law suits take. I didn't understand either how he tested negative all the way up until this final test or whatever and now there's a trace showing up that's potentially from a year ago? The testing system doesn't make much sense to me.

But I know Stiverne was advised not to fight, so what do you do? Someone test positive and then the fight is no longer sanctioned. Is it worth fighting if it's not sanctioned? I assume that he would still get paid, but it wouldn't count as an eliminator. May be too risky for no reward.

Argue it all you want bud. Your hero got caught with PEDS twice while stiverne got busted using a 5 hour energy drink which had a banned substance in it. It was confirmed & he was fined 75000. Not the same as trying mask PED.

Per the rules of VADA, as Stiverne himself said, he violated it by testing positive for a banned substance; the rules state you are responsible for knowing the list of banned substances, and everything you consume (per the possibility of contamination, etc.).

So I'm sure it's convenient this drug he tested positive for is found within common energy drinks, but I bet it's also found in PEDS..

Anyway, Stiverne himself just said that "he doesn't care if it was .000000001," rather than a typical nanograms/mL, because "RULES ARE RULES."

You know the reason he was only fined, and allowed to keep his mandatory position and have the fight go forward? BECAUSE POVETKIN DID NOT FILE A PROTEST!

If Stiverne continued on to fight, and won, you and I both know the WBC would have honored his position as mandatory challenger to Wilder (why he's even this high after getting shut out by Wilder, is beyond me - corruption by Don King, I'm sure).

He BYTCHED OUT, because "his lawyers and promoters, and the 1 suit, 2 suit, red suit blue suits," advised him to - they had a chance to still keep their position, WITHOUT FIGHTING POVETKIN!

Hahah now Wilder can cherry pick this fat bastard again, and use the excuse as his mandatory....

Stiverne BYTCHED OUT, plain and simple. Povetkin moved forward with their fight, despite having every right to withdraw. He didn't protest, and wanted to continue on with the fight, so the WBC fined THE SHYTE out of him instead.

RULES ARE RULES! Hahah... And as a supposed fan of the sport - you'd rather see fighters listen to lawyers, than make the best fights.

You don't know shyte about boxing; I think there's an old Mayweather/Pacquiao thread with your name on it.

I never even watched that fight so I don't know what this is. Actually I don't think I have posted in too many threads outside of HW in years. I'm sorry your hero Povetkin failed again. I watch boxing & to say I know shyte is pretty weak. I'm no boxing scholar & I don't got time to read up on all the Vada, wada, scoobie dooda or whatever these drug companies are called but I do watch ALL HW fights & give my opinion. I don't give a shyte what their rules are. It's too bad the fight didn't happen as I still want to see Povetkin in with any of the champions but he just can't seem to pass a drug test. You thinking Stiverne is a cowardly bum doesn't keep me up at night. Maybe if Povetkin could pass a pre-fight drug test he can be a topic of conversation inside the ring instead of outside.

Bottom-line - Povetkin was ready and willing to fight after Stiverne failed.

                Stiverne tucked tail and ran.

Povetkin was microdosing. Needs to hire a better doctor next time.
