Why do people underrate Golovkin's defense?

His defense is sound. That's about it tho. He's no defensive guru and he dies get sloppy. I'm not sure what people want people to see in his defense. That's not his specialty. There are numerous active fighters out there with better defense. Let him stick to what makes him deadly.

What makes him deadly is weak competition.

But he has nearly 400 amateur fights, and has never been dropped as a pro.

It's good enough to get him where he is so far.

He can be hit.

I do think he has a pretty good beard.

He hasn't been hit by a fighter great enough to make him truly pay, and at the same time, take what he can bring back on the offensive end.

Listen up vermin, maybe he has to let his lowly opposition (who all happen to be ranked in or around the top 10 of the division) land a few punches on him so the fighters that you support will grow enough balls to step in the ring with him.
