Can't really see the point of arguing about this still. GGG's team didn't want the fight. Ward made a late call to salvage the deal after the Lemieux fight was made. Ward is the king of the 175 division, GGG is happy at 160 let's move on.

All the concessions? Who is saying that? I'm sure as hell not.

I'm consistent in expecting a fighter moving up to move to the full higher weight limit. I wouldn't have been cool with Ward-Kovalev at 172 etc.

GGG's team asked for 164 because they knew Ward would never try to make that weight, or that even if he did that he'd most likely be much weaker as a result.

coWard called GGG out. Why should GGG leave his weight class and potentially not break the record for title defenses? coWard is the one who's career is in shambles and just wanted to use GGG's name to drum up interest. Now that coWard has officially lost a fight to a slower fighter than GGG, we all know why he ducked. We also know that now everyone sees how easy he is to beat and thats why coWard is thinking about retiring. He shouldve know that at some point you keep calling out real fighters eventually they are gonna get sick of you and beat your ass. He had to learn the hard way now coWard has nowhere to run nowhere to hide.

it was Ward's 2nd offer that you rejected in 36 minutes flat

Ward's 1st offer was rejected with the 164lb catchweight

and Tom, that was waaaay before Lemieux

            you be lyyyyyyyyyying
That link is to a statement by one of Ward's team, so don't expect anything but hogwash.

Loeffler himself clearly said they never asked Ward for a catchweight in negotiations. But yeah, Loeffler is a liar. He said he was trying to make a fight with Danny Jacobs, and look what happened there .. oh, wait ...

It was clear he was looking to work his way up to a big fight. GGG didn't want it, so he worked his way up to a Kovalev fight instead.

Why would he be afraid of GGG and not Kovalev? Kovalev was a much bigger risk, and a lesser known name, but he still signed the fight and entered the ring with him. The GGG fight was much more attractive than the Kovalev fight, so I'm sure if GGG manned up and took it Ward would have went that path (and then probably went up to 175 after anyway).

Ward hasn't 'officially' lost to anyone yet, unless you are disagreeing with what the word officially means.

I think you are trying to suggest that GGG is a bigger threat than Kovalev which is just embarrassing, really.

He is most likely talking about retiring to put pressure on people in negotiations. When he signs the rematch and gets in the ring with Kovalev again, will you admit that you were wrong on that?

                Ward, was 164

Froch said that they wanted him at 166

and now, Jnr just said that Golovkin would NOT fight him at 168, indicating that GGG wanted a catchweight with him as well
Asking for a catchweight to make a fight between two men in different divisions is not ducking, and neither is turning a catchweight down.

Ward tried to make a fight with Mayweather at 160, so Loeffler maybe thought 164 would be no problem for him back then.
