Floyd had an A grade chin. Sure his defense was impeccable, but when he did get nailed, he took em fine.

So do you only consider guys who have never been dropped or hurt by a non elite guy iron jawed? that's fair enough. His survival instinct was important I agree.

Not glass but not iron either.

I always thought Hopkins "iron" chin was slightly overrated due to his defense too.

It's no about elite status...it's more about getting hurt by shots that weren't that big or by guys who aren't big punchers. He used to trade punches a lot more earlier in his career, but he had the tendency to get clipped in exchanges. If he kept up with that type of style, i believe his chin would have eventually let him down.

Mayweather has one of the best chins in boxing in my opinion.

Right...so Ali didn't had a great jaw because Sonny Banks put him down? even when he took the shots of Liston, Moore, Frazier, Foreman, Patterson, Shavers, Lyle, etc... without going down, Dela Hoya didn't had an iron chin because Pernell Whitaker put him down? even when he took the shots of Tito, Pacquiao, Vargas, Mosley, etc... without going down...

His Jaw saved him on a couple of occassions actually. He only get uber defensive in his later career when his hands started to give out, not because he couldn't take a punch.

anyone can get hurt. if you fight at the highest level for as long as floyd has its impossible not to. hagler, chavez sr, marciano, ali, monzon, toney, holyfield, leonard, duran, robinson etc. all got hurt during their careers. some of them knocked out clean.

the fact that floyd remained standing from those vicious shots mosley, judah, corley, maidana, pacquiao etc hit him with is what proves how good his chin is. and thats a small number of the punchers he faced over the course of his career.

if he had a weak chin he would have been knocked out about half a dozen times based on the shots i have seen him absorb. but you are just being a d!ck for the sake of it, i mean, hatton? really? hatton didnt even hurt him, he caught him off balance and knocked him on his heels. floyd clearly wasnt hurt.

but like i wrote, you are just being a d!ck.
