Right...so Ali didn't had a great jaw because Sonny Banks put him down? even when he took the shots of Liston, Moore, Frazier, Foreman, Patterson, Shavers, Lyle, etc... without going down, Dela Hoya didn't had an iron chin because Pernell Whitaker put him down? even when he took the shots of Tito, Pacquiao, Vargas, Mosley, etc... without going down...

Mayweather so rarely got hit with clean punches, it's hard to judge the quality of his chin...but there's guys who went their whole careers without getting hurt/wobbled the way mayweather has, and have taken far more clean punches. It's ok that he's not the absolute peak in every category. His chin was good enough...that's that.

Maidana can really punch Id say harder than JMM , he landed the perfect right hand right on the button as Floyd was moving forward into the punch just as Manny moved into the punch which raises the impact power a lot , Floyd wobbled and went to his corner blinking while Manny was like a dead man on the floor .

Floyd has got a very solid chin and lot of it is in the magnificent shape he was always in , the man was a machine in training .

Floyd has a great chin. Even guys who historically are known for having great chins got put down multiple times in their careers. De La Hoya, Ali, Pacquiao, Holyfield, Margarito, Shane Mosley are all known for having great chins and they were all put down on their asses throughout their careers while Floyd never was. That's a testament to how great his chin is.

Mayweather got hit with some hard shots from a few opponents and didn't go down. We may not know if he had an iron chin cause he rarely got hit but a glass chin he did not have.

if mayweather had a glass jaw, he would have been knocked out considering the opposition he fought. His defence was amazing but no defence is inpenetrable and he got hit with clean shots. That punch maidana landed shook him, but it wasnt far off a mirror image of the shot marquez landed on pacquiao which sent him to sleep. And maidana probably hits harder.

It's a new day yes it is lol. The punch Maidana hit Floyd with might be the hardest punch he's taken in his entire career and he still didn't go down from it. His chin is solid enough to where he can withstand one good shot and since he rarely gets hit by more than one punch it's allowed him to excel in his career.
