He wonders why no one knows who he is, or why he is not as popular as Joshua. In Joshua's 18th fight he is fighting Klitschko!!! Wilder usually defends his title against guys Boxrec ranks about 25th to 45th in the world. I don't remember Wlad ever defending his titles against anybody not ranked solidly in the top 10 by everyone. So far Wilder has yet to defend against a worthy opponent as you say. I have never thought of him as the real heavyweight champ. Fury was the true champion but he wouldn't defend the title.The A.J. vs Wlad winner will be who I consider the real heavyweight champion. I think of Wilder as nothing more than a cherry picking contender. His best win is Steverne and that doesn't make him the champ.

I'm a Wilder fan but it's past time for him to fight a real contender again. He gets a pass over the whole Povetkin debacle both times, but there's no reason that his January defense can't be a better opponent.
