Kind of baffling that a guy that sold under 300k in his last ppv acts like he's some sort of global icon at the negotiating table. Golden boy is completely overestimating canelos worth as a star, particularly when you compare him to Real boxing ppv stars of recent eras.

Arum is a snake and you don't get paid unless you re-up your contract. But just look at the money he was offered to fight GGG. He turned that down out of spite because Haymon was whispering in his ears and promising big money and he fell for it. Wasted a full year trying to get out his contract with Arum, got peanuts to fight Fonfara lost. And now PBC has run out of money and can't even afford to pay him got him fighting no named bums in Mexico and begging Golden Boy for a payday.

Chavez just fought on Bein Sports Espanol and taken 2 bad losses since his last ppv. When you did ONLY about 100k PPVs or are fighting on Bein Sports you have no leg to stand on against a guy who draws 300k PPVs on his worst day. He's the cash cow he calls the shots the others NEED him not the other way around.

I also disagree that he doesn't need other fighters, he actually does because his reputation continues to take a hit with every overmatched opponent he faces and just because he's the A side in these equations doesn't necessarily make him a "cash cow" . The highest ppv he sold as an A side was with khan and that was 400k. If Floyd, pac or Oscar did that number or 290k like he did vs Smith when they were considered the top ppv stars, it'd be considered a flop.Last edited by bigdunny1; 12-22-2016, 02:03 PM.

Same source reported that said GGG did 150 reported khan fight did 600k. Either way canelo does double to four times more then GGG whenever he fights. So he calls the shots
