Kind of baffling that a guy that sold under 300k in his last ppv acts like he's some sort of global icon at the negotiating table. Golden boy is completely overestimating canelos worth as a star, particularly when you compare him to Real boxing ppv stars of recent eras.

300k to fight a pure nobody to the US audience. A guy who had never fought in the States and never had a fight aired in the states ever. At a time when NOBODY else is doing 300k PPV buys. He did 600k against Khan earlier in the year and 900k against Cotto before that. Chavez just fought on Bein Sports Espanol and taken 2 bad losses since his last ppv. When you did ONLY about 100k PPVs or are fighting on Bein Sports you have no leg to stand on against a guy who draws 300k PPVs on his worst day. He's the cash cow he calls the shots the others NEED him not the other way around.

Arum is a snake and you don't get paid unless you re-up your contract. But just look at the money he was offered to fight GGG. He turned that down out of spite because Haymon was whispering in his ears and promising big money and he fell for it. Wasted a full year trying to get out his contract with Arum, got peanuts to fight Fonfara lost. And now PBC has run out of money and can't even afford to pay him got him fighting no named bums in Mexico and begging Golden Boy for a payday.
Exactly! He went for quick money off his last name instead of going with a World Champion bonafide superstar who knows how to build a superstar, then blew all that quick money on weed, cereal and probably ******* for him and his old man. Now he's begging that superstar promoter and his superstar fighter for a payday to keep the tax man and coke dealers he owes at bay

he did 400k vs khan not 600. While I understand he's the A side, he's still not big enough to try and not offer a guy like ggg no ppv upside or to offer Chavez Jr less than 30 percent. I also disagree that he doesn't need other fighters, he actually does because his reputation continues to take a hit with every overmatched opponent he faces and just because he's the A side in these equations doesn't necessarily make him a "cash cow" . The highest ppv he sold as an A side was with khan and that was 400k. If Floyd, pac or Oscar did that number or 290k like he did vs Smith when they were considered the top ppv stars, it'd be considered a flop.

400k? Haha So now we using unconfirmed low ball buy figures? Then GGG hasn't even cracked 100k buys. Mr 97k. Same source reported that said GGG did 150 reported khan fight did 600k. Either way canelo does double to four times more then GGG whenever he fights. So he calls the shots

Oscar was the one who tried to say just under 600k but it was an obvious lie. Never trust a coke head. All reliable sources said it was around 400 k and golden boy declined to release the official numbers. Why do you think they would decline to release the numbers? Use simple logic.

                    I think a 70/30 or 65/35 split is fair.

Thats why. White people came to America for a better life. The same reason other people from the world come here, including Mexicans.
