Stevenson has a mandatory defense against Elieder Alvarez to deal with before considering any other voluntary defense (which is what Kovalev would be at this point).

The WBC has agreed to rank the Bute/Alvarez fight as a Mando fight... So if Bute wins he has the spot ... It's getting much too complicated in the LHW division... All the politics is killing the sport ...

Also, Kovalev will NEVER fight Stevenson with no belts on his side... His best bet for a title is still Cleverly and his lesser WBA belt or a possible rematch with Ward.

Come on now. If you really bothered to rewatch that fight then you can clearly see that Kov won 5 rounds. There is no way that anyone can say that Ward clearly won 5 rounds, let alone 7. I do agree that Kov was gassing a bit towards the end, but so was Ward! Not sure what that has to do with anything though, the point here is that Kov was the Champ & the challenger has to take the titles! Ward in no shape or form did this. I don't call it a robbery, but it definitely was a gift. Let's just be honest, call it what it is & stop with the BS.

By the time I read through the comments I forgot what the actual story was about because of all the hate involved. Don't get it. Not a Kovalev fanboy, was happy of Ward or Kov won. I had Kovalev beating Ward by a point, can understand those that think Ward won. Stevenson fights sub-par opposition.
