It is and I think they'll take it. Although reports were that it was actually 10 million. Who the hell knows what the real offer was.....
Is $15,000,000 not enough to fight Canelo??

That's way too much. I doubt it will actually come to that much. People are under the impression that this fight will sell better than Canelo-Cotto's 900k which was aided by two of the biggest fanbases in boxing, in one of the biggest rivalries of the sport. For Canelo-Cotto I expect considerably less than 900k, maybe 600k. $10-15 million is way too much for GGG and i'm sure what will happen is GGG's team and Canelo's team will negotiate for percentages of the PPV. Canelo will make something like $12 mill and GGG will make something like $7mill, not including endorsements and other revenue. When it's all said and done, stretching it, GGG may earn $10 mill but again that's stretching it.Comment

Chill out yourself, Golovkin hater boy.You have never posted one kind word about GGG, only hateful, negative ****. You have already started this same thread at least once before. Your argument is a weak and ****** one. It's the same basic argument that said Pacquiao should just shutup and take a flat fee to fight Mayweather instead of holding out for a percentage and making many times as much as that flat fee. Why do you think Oscar is only offering a flat fee instead of the standard percentage split of the money available to pay the fighters? Canelo then makes many times what GGG makes and that's not fair. A split of 60/40 or 65/35 in Canelo's favor would be fair and get GGG the pay day he deserves for being half of the biggest money making fight that can be made in all of boxing today. You don't get to tell GGG who his management should be and who he should fight for how much money. GGG will stay with his team and fight who he wants when he wants to fight them under terms he is satisfied with. There is nothing you can do about it except b*tch, cry and moan and start more hate threads attacking him as usual. GGG is fighting Jacobs soon. Jacobs is a bad MFer and the best and most deserving middleweight GGG could possible fight. Why don't you post something good about that excellent fight?Comment

Golovkin really needs new management if they're really going to reject an offer of that size, has he even made that much his whole career?? I doubt the fight sells 1 million PPV buys so I don't know what they're expecting to get by rejecting the offer, didn't Canelo fight Cotto for only $5,000,000??? that's 33% of what is being offered to Golovkin, and let's not forget Canelo was involved in the third highest PPV ever in all sports
Hint: The fact that they put a rematch clause in their offer to Chavez makes it perfectly clear that they can opt out of the GGG deal if they want to. And that means the offer isnt $10 million, and it isn't $15 million. A contract that one side can opt out of at-will is actually worth $0.00Last edited by OnePunch; 12-20-2016, 10:52 AM.Comment

Most people think this fight is a much bigger money fight than Canelo vs Cotto. Why would they offer GGG 10 million or 15 million and end up paying him 7 million? That makes no sense at all. I think your figures are way off.I think Canelo and his opponents are making much more money than you think they are.
My figures are way off because you do not understand how PPV works, and you may not even have understood what I said.
I will break it down step by step.
1. Loeffler wants a cut of the PPV, not the flat fee of $10-15 mill being offered by GBP.
2. The reason they want this, I suspect is because they think the PPV will do great numbers, probably better than Canelo-Cotto's 900k buys or similar, which it won't.
3. Where did I get my figures from? Networks get 50% of the PPV revenue, and the other 50% go to the fighters. If my prediction is correct that this PPV does 600k at $65, that's $39 million divided by 2, that leaves $19,500,000. If Loeffler gets his desired "40%" that means they get $7.8 million and Canelo makes $11.7 million.
4. Both numbers increase from gate revenue and companies endorsing them in the fight. This is where I got my approximite figures.
5. Which is why I keep saying that GBP is ****** to offer such a high flat fee, and Loeffler is ****** for not calling their bluff and accepting that flat fee.
6. Even if the PPV is a huge success and matches the Cotto-Canelo numbers, GGG still takes something under $15 mill, just over $10 mill (40% of 900k ppv buys).

there is alot more to an "offer" than just the purse itself. Is there language in the offer that limits GGGs money in a rematch? Is Golden Boy asking for options on GGG? How many different escape clauses are in the offer that basically render it worthless?

They can't opt-out of the Golovkin deal because there is no deal. Golovkin hasn't accepted.Comment
