How is getting paid $ 1,000,000 pricing himself out? When other unworthy boxers get paid up to 10 times more than Roman? While Roman keeps fighting top contenders and champions, while others getting 10 times more and fighting Cab Drivers...

I don't know that Japanese and Mexican crowds/fans will react the same. The Japanese fans might be cheering him because he is promoted by Mr. Honda, a very influential and important businessman in Japan.

      • He got beat up by a guy who is not even known in Mexico. However, Gonzales fought as usual, though, entertainingly, but like others said, certain divisions don't translate to drawing power. You make more money by fighting often.

        • He lives in a socialist country. Does the government automatically take half his check?

He sold more tickets than Hopkins & Lomachenko. The Ward vs Kovalev replay had higher ratings than the GGG-Brook fight and he gained viewers while Lomachenko lost viewers. He had around the same viewership as Hopkins. Lomachenko got $1mil & Hopkins got $800k. Roman deserves the $800k he's asking for. He's not asking for an outrageous amount like he did for the Estrada rematch. He hadn't proven to be a seat filler or ratings draw at that point. Now he's proven he's worth what he's asking for. I'm not a fan of Roman or thinks he should be P4P #1 but numbers wise he's asking for a fair purse

No way you can gauge this when he's not the main card. That's all speculative nonsense.

Agreed. HBO could pay double for the Cuadras rematch and it'd still be cheaper than their average card. They're trying to fleece Roman and Cuadras just because they're small and don't have powerful promoters

how in the hell can you be afraid of a guy you already fought lol....fighters who win the first fight deserve more money....Ward and Chocolatito have common sense...the second fights will be bigger because the first fighter were exciting...everyone else will be making more $$$..the fighters should too

He was the main card. Cuadras-Gonzalez sold more than Hopkins-Smith Jr.

His last fight sold 6.7k and had 843k viewers. It also did 2.3M viewers in Mexico.

Is $400,000 fair for those numbers? Anyone?
Interesting, where did you read this?

All over the place. Fight News, Boxing News 24, BSCENE probably has it too.
