Hmmm we might need some accountants in this thread.

His last fight sold 6.7k and had 843k viewers. It also did 2.3M viewers in Mexico.

Is $400,000 fair for those numbers? Anyone?
Out of those 2.3 miilion viewers you say in mexico, its because it was free..You think 2.3 mill people would buy that fight?

800k for his fight vs Cuadras, 1m vs Arroyo and 960k vs Sosa seem to disagree with you.

Wouldn't you say that even if a small number of people know who Roman Gonzalez is, most would want to watch him, whereas more people might know a guy like Danny Garcia but hardly anyone would want to watch him when he fights guys like Rod salka?

Just because he hasn't headlined a PPV doesn't mean he is unknown though. Idk how known or unknown he is tbh but his numbers are there. If you wanna credit those numbers to GGG or his opponent then that's fine.

No..See,here is what I think, the difference between garcia is that he fought Khan, mattyse, you know, few good fighters(morales) so he is known more,we all know salka was nothing more than a move to make money and keep winning, but in my opinion, people knows garcias more than chocolatito. Also, dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with him asking for more money,I mean, why not..but you think he can headline a PPV?or carry a whole card by himself, fighting a salkesque?..The main problem I have with roman,is like someone mentioned here,he is in a few P4P lists, that really dont mean much, and he wants PAC money..Let him be more known, invest more promoting him and we shall see..You know if guillermo would be asking more money everybody would be saying he is crazy..And for the guys who is getting average numbers and ticket prices, you must have total number of tickets plus total amount of amount of seats with specific prices, plus a few more things to get an avergae..also you need to know how many peple went to see him or GGG to know who is bringing what.

He's lucky to be getting the type of checks he's getting right now considering how Flyweight boxing has such a small following and to put it bluntly alot of boxing fans don't give a s**t about. I'm looking foward to this rematch if it ever happens, i believe Caudras can pull this off if he isn't as gun shy as he was in the first fight.
                  ^^^ largely this

Still, can you blame him? the way that HBO has gone about hyping him (imo, largely as a tool to keep the hype off of other fighters not with HBO, but I'm a cynic), Roman Gonzalez has to feel like he's the man now.

You throw in the talk of HBO now viewing Gonzalez as a fighter who has the ability to carry his own bill, and it isn't a shock that he's expecting the pay to go up with the attention.

Bernard Hopkins fought his farewell fight, for the WBC International 175lb belt, and earned $800k.

Roman Gonzalez is a 4-weight, world champion, arguably just about to end the prime of his career, with HBO clamoring for a rematch of a fight that apparently turned out to be a good scrap (haven't seen it and don't plan to see it, tbh), after fighting the first fight for $400k.

No one is saying that Gonzalez should now be a million dollar fighter, but to expect him to run the fight back on the same money is silly.

I am not saying he is completly unknown, but like I said,in order to attribute those numbers to him, like you did,we would need to know how many people went to see him and how many went to see ggg or both?..makes sense?.I am not sure why he thinks he deserves more than what he is being offered,I dont know if its too much or to little, but what numbers he brings...same thing is happening to ward(different subject)he now wants more money, but we know himself isnt a PPV star.

What I am trying to say is that I don't think a guy like Danny Garcia deserves more money than Chocolatito does for his upcoming fight when fighting a nobody. Not only is he a 4 weight world champion, but he has faced the best opposition along the way. More importantly, who would you rather watch? So I think the point about more people knowing other fighters is not always right when all that it means is that more people will know whether a fighter is worth watching or not. In the case of Danny Garcia, I will not watch him fight nobodies but I will watch Roman Gonzalez fight almost anybody because of his style of fighting and skill. If we look at the numbers, Garcia vs Salka did around 800k viewers, the same US numbers as Gonzalez vs Cuadras, yet Garcia received $700k for that. As for his p4p claims, he is considered #1 by the ring and is in the top 3 of many other lists including my own, though I'm not sure how much this affects his ability to draw viewers. Given all this, I think that he is entitled to ask for more money.
