Comments Thread For: Smith: I Did What Kovalev, Stevenson Couldn't With KO Victories

I knew Bhop was in trouble, little punch and he lays on the ropes a lot. I won't say Joe is a favorite to beat these other guys. I will say he throws harder more often. Everything comes from deep space with Joe, but that might be a flaw. A big puncher might discourage him and a boxer might frustrate him. Who's next?

Kovalev vs hopkins was 2 years ago the dude is 52 yrs old now it took you 8 rounds to finish a 52 yr old man , dont pride yourself on that..the fonfara fight you got a lucky punch..stevenson will whoop you..

Joe Smith has an opportunity here but he needs to sign with GBP IMMEDIATELY so his career can flourish. Otherwise he can just keep his laborer job.

And now you have a meltdown over the fact that you were dead wrong and cant accept it.
And it wasn't a lucky punch against Fonfara, the fight ended with more than 10 consecutive punches.Last edited by richardt; 12-19-2016, 02:50 PM.

Smith better enjoy his 15 minutes. This is the same guy who was battered around the ring by much shorter clubfighter Eddie Caminero (he of the 7-9 pro record). In fact, Caminero broke his jaw as well. Imposing your will on a shot looking 52 year old is different than going after the young guys at the top. People are also milking the Fonfara upset far too much. Fonfara was considered a tough but limited contender, whose biggest claim to fame was beating a woeful looking Chavez Jr (who was also coming up in weight). People talk now like he was a P4P entrant. In fact, Smith looked extremely lucky to land the haymaker he caught Fonfara with. Bottom line is Smith was the lucky one who got the shot at Hopkins. Several other young light heavies could likely have accomplished a similar result last Saturday night if given the opportunity.
