Not all the terms are set for the rematch. Ward hasn't really said anything about the pay or the splits, based on what I have read and heard. It's people assuming that the pay is the problem. I don't think negotiation will take very long. It hasn't even started yet between the two sides. ****** stuff like who walks out first and which promoter gets advertising where are parts of the negotiation and most likely what the bickering is about. Honestly, I think they are hyping the fight more than anything else.

Las Vegas isn't quite home turf for Ward. That's just the biggest place in boxing to do a boxing match. Besides, everyone was saying how Kov likes to go on the road to annihilate people. Now, it's a disadvantage? Kov says himself that he can't keep the same level of focus if he fights in Russia, so I don't know where else you would want the fight to happen.

Considering that we have seen some pretty bad beatings (Walters and BHop most recently) when they didn't get their tune-ups, it made for a better fight that he got those tune-ups, no?

A lot of Ward's 5m came from his promoter. Comparing his money to Kov's money doesn't really make sense as far as negotiations.

Judges? Eh... Depending on how egregious a 1-point win in a aclose fight is to you, you have an argument here. I think the judges shouldn't all be American though. I don't know if negotiations have anything to do with that.

So what do you think his new A side status entitles him to that he wasn't getting as the B side? Nobody seems to be able to answer this. This respect you're talking about, what does that amount to?

Ok, how many fighters you going to accuse me of being my favorite fighter? According to you i'm now three people with three completely different favorite fighters. Like seriously you people throw that shhh around here like it's cute to make it seem like pulled an ace from your sleeve. I like Kovalev as much as I like Ward, not all that much but have enjoyed two or three of their fights. On the topic of rematch, you think HBO wasn't going to secure that rematch considering they gave Ward 3 motherf'ing tune ups....3 dawg...3! Yeah I know Kathy is a woman, she wears panties and has a monthly cycle some of you guys on here are so anti this woman it really calls into question a lot about ya'll. Kathy has lawyers just like every other promoter on the planet does...get over it.

On another note considering how much disdain you have for Kovalev and Golovkin one would think you've been abused by white people your whole life..it's ok to support a white/european boxer bruh...seriously it doesn't make you a sell out..it makes you an actual fan of the sport.

I mentioned the "****** stuff" like advertisements, who walks out first, whose name is put first in the rematch promotions (Ward-Kov or Kov-Ward), etc. These things are ****** and trivial to me, but they matter to some boxers. I remember similar petty things being parts of the negotiation for the MayPac fight and they had to agree on them. Those things don't matter to me considering that I just want to see them box, but I can imagine that those things matter for some competitors in getting their due respect from their opponents and the opponents' teams. It could be a mental edge. I don't know.... Also, I don't think the location or the venue has been determined in the rematch clause. That actually could be a significant A-side point. I believe two places were excluded as potential locations (Oakland was one of them) in the negotiations, but I'm not sure.... Any way, there are things to be negotiated and I'm sure Ward will use the fact that he won the first fight as leverage. I don't care. The fight needs to happen in April regardless.
