Maybe you are right, people will always disagree, although most people I know think kovalev won,but it doesnt matter, the fight is done with. What I am thinking is the Ward is trying some things from mayweather book, you know, leaning towards being the "bad" guy.Saying how he won and how this and that, perhaps to sell more PPV's..It has been said the rematch clause was there and even how much money was there to make,so I am thinking that is just show to make more people tune in..to kinda use his words, this is "business 101",if you have a signed contract, that lawyers went through, you have to honor it,otherwise you have a breach, there are no changes(unless both parties agree). He will fake an injury,or demand another tune up fight. In my opinion he is pretty good,he has beaten few good fighters, but nobody knows him,his PPV star status went even lower since this gift(or not, your call)People were really mad he won,so if casual fans or people that dont follow up much the sport but reads tmz,see what he is saying, they might pay for the ppv to see him lose(ala mayweather.)

"Prime" is sorta subjective. At 32, Ward is NOT in his prime, though prime at 32 may be applicable for other athletes.

When you win you can do this. My guess is Ward tries to get a NYC money fight with Joe Smith before he rematches Kov.

I don't even think the 1st fight cleared more than $15,000,000??? So there can't be much wiggle room to pay the fighters more??? Kovalov kind cool with getting paid $2 million again but Ward is insane for asking for more.

Hate to say it but Kovalov should just move on. It suks he lost his belts and can't even get them back but when a guy starts talking retirement or pay me crazy $$$$ u know its time to move on. I could see if this fight did REALLY good numbers asking for a raise but it just didn't.

The problem is that Ward's boss paid him the extra money,so whatever he is asking, has to come from rocnation..I am thinking, like someone mentioned,he might get drop soon from the company.

Somebody needs to sit Android coWardrolene down and teach him that if he wants to be treated like the winner he has to actually win the fights not just have your sugar Daddy pay off judges and commissions.

“You guys saw my last fight,” Ward said. “I beat the guy that nobody said I could beat. So I just wanna, moving forward, I wanna act like we beat the guy that nobody said we could beat. As long as everybody acts like that, I think we should be fine.”

The only problem with this is.....the majority of the boxing world felt you lost!

Ward barely fought in his "prime years"
