Lederman is a joke, I cringe listening to him commentate. It's amazing how somebody who's been around boxing for so many years can be so utterly clueless

The same goes for most other boxing pundits/commentators, you never see breakdowns of how/why certain punches should be thrown, how certain feints can help you unlock a defence etc. It's just always 'wow great punch, great right hand'. Pauli is one of the few who understands and breaks down what he's watching.

In a way he's right. However, there is usually a reason a particular boxer isn't throwing enough punches and it's almost never because they simply choose not to...

Merchant probably got a kick out of how Hopkins went out last night as well.

Ok OP. You know I gotta tell ya I think it's time to replace Howard Lederman. In a battle between Howard scoring a fight logically and scoring a fight ******edly, the ******ed scoring is being the aggressor and landing harder cleaner shots and winning all 12 rounds.

I been saying ledderman is a old school idiot for years he scores simply on who presses the action regardless if the punches land or not or it's one big shot in the round and he completely forgets the other 2 minutes And 55 seconds of the round.

Yep. If you come forward you're winning on his card. His card for Cuadras/Gonzalez was horrible.

Didn't Lederman say during Kovalev-Ward that if he was Ward, he'd go forward and beat Kovalev up? What an idiot.

Boxing is like the weird drunk uncle who can't hold down a job who seems a lil too attracted to girls under 16 who thinks he's just misunderstood of sports.
I've been saying for years the sport needs an injection of youth. Everybody involved in boxing is old. Announcers, jugdes, promoters, refs, sanctioning org officials. And that HBO team needs to be shaken up. They are horrible. Max has to go. His post fight interviews are horrible. And he's always naming some obscure fighter. HBO has to get rid of that whole team.

Yep. ESPN does it a little with Teddy. Paulie is the best at breaking down what's happening in a fight and explaining it in laymans terms. I think John Madden is a big reason football is so popular. He and his famous telestrator. Football fans can tell your the technical parts about the game like zone blitzes, blitz packages, cover 2, and more. Lampley can't even get a punch correct.
