Lederman is an old school judge who doesn't give much credit to runners who never take the lead and only throw counters.
He prefers to give credit to an aggressive fighter even if their not being extremely accurate. If the scoring is equal the aggressor gets more credit, I agree! Without that aggression there's no fight.
He will also give more credit to one hard punch over 3 or 4 light punches, as I do.
If you like copybox you should enjoy amateur boxing where all contact punches are considered the same value. In the pros it's about landing "meaningful" shots not light scoring.

As far as scoring matches I don't always agree with him but his style and methodology is always consistent and knows more about boxing than any of those "commentators" like Lampshadehead & Maxie Boy.

Doesn't matter. Some old school type guys like Merchant especially were bothered by certain out spoke boxers. You could tell Merchant didn't like Floyd either.

I don't disagree with any of that...but I'm talking about how he over simplifies. He says thing like "if i was in there, I'd be throwing everything". Anyone who's ever been in a ring knows it isn't that simple. For someone who knows so much about boxing, you think he'd have more to offer than...throw more punches, let your hands go etc.

Merchant definitely didn't like Floyd, but it was obvious and they never offered Floyd a job in his spare time. Hopkins is a completely different story. There's no evidence of anyone there disliking Hopkins. In fact, much evidence to the contrary.

He's not paid for analysis he's there as a former Ref who worked major fight for years!
What he is basically saying is when your loosing TRY!
You do NOT see fighters today put their ballz down in the 8th round when everyone knows their loosing! If they don't have the skills to be competitive then it's the promotion and matchmaking thats let the sport down.
Many opponents are picked because the "A side" knows they can look good but will be discouraged when pressure comes.
Harold comes from the old school that if your out skilled try to out will your opponents, haven't you ever watched "Rocky"? hahaha...

Walk forward and throw punches and you have a >75% of Harold giving you the round.

LOL he pretty much does say that to anyone down by a couple rounds like boxing is simply about "letting your hands go". HBO needs to probably can his ass at this point. No wonder boxing can't attract new younger fans with the WWE level corruption that isn't tongue in cheek like the WWE & mfers older then their parents bumbling around saying nonsensical **** or telling you the fight you are watching sucks.

Boxing is like the weird drunk uncle who can't hold down a job who seems a lil too attracted to girls under 16 who thinks he's just misunderstood of sports.

Wow. Much ado about nothing. I don't even give a *** about what these commentators say, HBO, SHO, PBC, Box Nation, FNF. They are human beings with their own biases. Why take them seriously? You can even turn off the volume.

I see the same comments uttered in this site all the time, "he needs to let his hands go..."

As if this is something out of the ordinary.

He's usually right. Most people are poor because they have "analysis paralysis" (thinking about how to get rich year after year without actually doing anything) and most boxers who throw a fight have something very similar (saving it up all night until the final bell rings then shaking their head in disbelief, like they just got warmed up).

It IS about "letting your hands go".....
When your NOT doing enough you need to let your hands go!
When the basics are missing that's the first thing said in a corner along with "hands up"..........................

Dinner time gotta let my "knife & fork go".............
