...think that every person in history who was losing or lost a fight just simply needed to throw more punches? It's like he sincerely believes that you can just step straight into anyone and let your hands go without any thought of walking into something, or what might be coming back...or if someone has good movement and keeps you out of range, you can just magically close the distance while throwing a barrage of hard punches, like the guy is just gonna freeze there and take it.
Is it just me, or does Harold Lederman...

He's commentating with the idea that a more casual audience is watching. He's not going to break down exactly how the losing fighter should throw more punches. -
thats why people who dksab can be swayed by hbo so easily. he acts like being aggressive is 3 out of 4 criteria for scoring a fightComment

Lederman's scorecards are mostly bull*****. Just another tool, like CompuBox to try and sway user opinion. That being said. I gave Hopkins 2 rounds last night. While he was making Smith miss a lot, Smith's volume was outworking Hopkins more frugal output in my opinion....think that every person in history who was losing or lost a fight just simply needed to throw more punches? Speaking of that fight...it seemed strange that hbo's unofficial judge was openly talking about being a huge fan of one of the fighters and driving hundreds of miles to watch him fight. Not that smith wasn't winning...but how was anyone supposed to take lederman's card seriously after that.Lederman's scorecards are mostly bull*****. You also have to remember that certain people at HBO have been waiting for Hopkins to lose bad for a long time. Hopkins beating the system, and making it to the top, paired with being a very outspoken Black man, rubs some people the wrong way. Merchant probably got a kick out of how Hopkins went out last night as well.Speaking of that fight...it seemed strange that hbo's unofficial judge was openly talking about being a huge fan of one of the fighters and driving hundreds of miles to watch him fight. Oh lord, on top of HBO continuing to pay for him to fight, the guy also has a job at HBO.You also have to remember that certain people at HBO have been waiting for Hopkins to lose bad for a long time.
