You Conor fan boys are a weird bunch. If this fight happens, there wont be a Mayweather/McGregor split. It'll be a UFC/Showtime-TMT split, with the fighters being covered by their respective companies. This is how the May/Pac fight was done (and pretty much every other PPV boxing match; fighters are paid through the promoters). McGregor is under contract and can't compete in any combat activity without the UFC cosigning (and likely profiting from it).

Further, Mayweather could fight PacMan again and still pull in $50-70 million. (just guessing the PPV would do 2-3 million) He could also fight the Thurman/Garcia winner and pull in another $30 or 40 million. (1-1.5 million buys) He doesn't need Conor.

McGregor can only dream of those numbers under the UFC banner. This really comes down to the UFC leadership and how they would want to profit from the event. According to the most recent available information, the UFC pulled in ~$600 million in annual revenue (that should go up with the recent McGregor PPVs on the books).

If they made this fight with Floyd, it would likely beat the $600 million Floyd/Manny made. Even if they got 50/50, it would significantly add to their bottom line.

For these reasons I think its not a matter of if, but when we'll see this fight. (and they'll likely get it on 50/50 terms; WME-IMG has more bargaining power and resources than Top Rank; who got 40/60).

Like I posted a while back, Mayweather wanted to continue his career this year but couldn't because he ruined his rep/cred with the mega turd, rip off event.

No boxers will fight him because he clinches, runs and is an unfair control freak; everything is always in his favor (from weight, venue, ring size, gloves, jockstraps, shoes, judges, referee etc...).

Floyd wanted Danny Garcia but his Pops said no, they're not going to chase chickens and mess up their record/career.

And this is why he's begging for a UFC/MMA fighter like Connor McGregor (which is ******ed in it self) to a fight because he can't sell anymore.

McGregor need Mayweather

The UFC is the one who started using Mayweather name 1st let get that straight. All of 2014 it was Rhonda Rosey ppv's until she got expose. Then going into 2015 it was McGregor with both the Mendez and Aldo ppv's doing the same thing. Also the Berto fight did 550k and not 350k. And Mayweather still made more in the fight did McGregor made and his last 3 fights combine. Floyd could fight GGG or Canalo tomorrow and get 2 to 2.5 million buy rates. He either looking for a easy payday or just giving connor a taste of his own medicine.
