I say so. He was an unknown to KO to very good fighter.

He does have a strong case

I don't think he deserves FOTY, but common decency demands his name be mentioned.

Yeah, I know BHop was 51 and coming off a long lay-off- but it was still BHop.

He knocked Bernard the fugg out! BHop who had never been stopped.

Hell, I coulda swore I saw "Smokey" from the movie Friday standing over him outside the ring.

And he also played electrician with Fonfara, cut the lights straight off.

The same Fonfara that got up from being KD by Adonis and gave Superman hell the rest of the way.

No, he doesn't quite deserve FOTY, but they better put his name in the convo at least.

          Unfortunately, yes.

Just too many folks out there with at least 2 good wins over superior competition than what Joe did his thing against.

I would say he deserves to be in the conversation but I personally wouldn't have him winning. Good story though.

Fonfara was certainly a good win but it was a first round knockout and they can be misleading and Hopkins looked every bit 51 years old last night, name recognition doesn't make that a good win.

              The best candidates are:

Frampton, Lomachenko, Crawford, Jermall Charlo, Pacquiao, Chocolatito, Ward, Yamanaka, Usyk and Jezreel Corrales (if he defeats Uchiyama again).

Not a strong case but he'll be considered.
