Does Joe Smith now have a strong case for Fighter OTY?

~20/1 outsider against top 10 Fonfara, blew him out in 1 round
    >2/1 outsider against the legend BHop, who despite looking his age was giving him good looks throughout the fight, but then Smith KO'd him in devastating fashion

From part-time boxer/construction worker to top name in the division, his 2016 run has been spectacular. But is it a Fighter OTY run?

I wouldn't be against it. If you take into consideration how much of an underdog he was in both fights he really did have the most impressive year. Still lean to Frampton though.

Those are actually two good wins.

What a way to go for B-Hop, dude fell on his back outside the ring.

NO...this was a never should have happened version of Hopkins. Smith's not even ready for a top tier fight yet...but at least he can quit his construction job now and make some money.

he has had a great year and need to be greedy (althoug I know life and sometimes you cant) and quit his construction job and focus on boxing 100% cause you in the door baby and you can make some things happens and stack up some cake before your time is up.

Now to the subject, he had a great year and hes probably breakout star of the year but FOTY Frampton has that in teh bag.
