Alexander Povetkin didn't win the WBC interim heavyweight title Saturday, nor did he win many fans worldwide. He did beat Johann Duhaupas, a last-second substitute for Bermane Stiverne. Russia's Povetkin stopped France's Duhaupas in the sixth round of a scheduled 10-round, non-title fight at the Ekaterinburg Expo in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Didn't see the fight but Duhaupas showed some cajones stepping in on less than a day's notice. It would have been poetic justice had he won the fight but the odds were stacked against him. Can't really compare Wilder's fight with The Reptile and Povetkin's for obvious reasons (PEDs and preparation). At this point, Povetkn is irrelevant to me....I don't care what he does from this point on.

I know Johann just got KO'd but he still has 6 weeks before that Takam fight would of happened. I wonder what he will do? After losing a close 12 round slugfest to Teper he came back & beat Charr on 4 weeks notice. Duhaupas is a warrior & solid HW.
