VETERAN BOXING EXECUTIVE ERIC GOMEZ PROMOTED TO PRESIDENT OF GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS
"Eric has been a trusted adviser, confidante and friend throughout my career both as a fighter and a promoter," De La Hoya said. "From close relationships with our fighters, to sharp insight into the business of the sport, to an ability to manage a growing team of professionals, there is no one in the sport who has a better or broader view of boxing."
Effective immediately, Gomez will begin overseeing day-to-day functions of all boxing-related aspects of Golden Boy Promotions, working with a stable of dozens of superstar fighters including the sport's biggest headliner, Canelo Alvarez.

Getting the money on the front end rather than the back end, Golden Boy has already offered to pay K2/Golovkin basically 40% of the take that could logically be expected from the event, and folks are still running around, crying about fairness.

Why would this matter if GGG is signed to fight Jacobs next?
Canelo vs GGG is going to be in discussion for September, anyways.
Lmao, just can't please the haters. First it was, "why can't he offer enough for jacobs?", "why is he ducking jacobs", now that he's signed to fight Jacobs, they start bringing up Canelita

I have never expected this fight to do as good as some people expect it will do and with PPV numbers down all across the board, I think it will definitely NOT do as good as expected. So, they better be careful with how much they offer. Lol

Or does golden boy have an escape clause if Canelo loses an interim bout or puts it off to rematch chavez or something?
Whether they accepted the offer today, or spent another couple of months tweaking the deal, the fight isnt going to happen a single day sooner, so I dont know why everyone is getting their panties all bunched up
I don't know why but I somehow don't believe anything this guy says. 10 million dollars was too good to be true but 15? Get out of here.
Unless, it is NSB points money!

If the offer is pulled in 6 months, than it was never real.
Alvarez-Chavez Jr could do great business, Golovkin-Jacobs could do not so great business, and the money will move accordingly.
Heck, Alvarez-Chavez Jr could end up being such a barnburner of a fight (or Miguel Cotto could look so razor-sharp in his February fight) that the paying public could say "to hell with Golovkin, we want to see either a Chavez Jr rematch or a Cotto rematch".
For Mexican Independence Day weekend, what would earnestly be a bigger event than Alvarez vs Chavez Jr from Aztec Stadium in Mexico City (after a barnburner first fight)?
