...and Stiverne ended up drinking it anyway.

So you mean to tell me that you are about to face a guy that was on watch for taking illegal drugs, and you drink something that could have a label on it but you don't know?

Uhhhhhhh nah I can't buy that from a professional boxer.

This is the WBC that we're talking about. They have allowed fights to go on while fighters have taken banned substances...otherwise Salido-Vargas wouldn't happen

They knew this may happen. Duhaupas was already in camp to face Takam January 29. That fight disappeared off boxingrec a few days ago. Duhaupas was flying to Russia to be ringside for the fight. This explains everything. All the WBC did was unsanction the fight. I'm assuming since it's in Russia they will go ahead with the event. Duhaupas has nothing to lose & eveything to gain. I suspect Stiverne pulled out because he either becomes mandatory or he faces Dillian Whyte in a final eliminator very soon. Duhaupas is probably getting paid very handsomely to keep this event on. Wilder called it... lol! This should pretty much end Povetkin's career unless he wants to keep fighting for money in Russia where I'm sure he will be allowed to box. Wilder has a better chance of winning his lawsuit now. Don King might want some of that lebedev/jones money he had to pay after being sued by the Russian promoter...

You mean to say they calculated Povetkin might get busted?

His failed drug test was on December 6. I usually don't care about boxer's twitter & FB accounts but when i noticed the takam fight was down i read Duhaupas FB. Said he was heading to Russia for the Povetkin fight. I thought he meant just to watch. Lol...

Wow. Major props to Duahupas for taking this fight when he had a big fight of his own coming up, he might be the gutsiest dude in all of boxing. I hope he walks right off the plane with his gloves on and beats the living piss out of Povetkin. WAR REPTILE!!!

Edit: Wasn't Takam/Duhaupas going to be a lesser eliminator as well? Maybe Takam can fight Stiverne instead now. If Duhaupas beats Povetkin, winner of Takam/Stiverne fights Duhaupas for the mando spot. If Duhaupas loses you can just make Takam/Stiverne the final eliminator.

Russian boxing should just have an open PED policy. Let the fighters be juiced to the gills and they fight independent of the orgs. Probably put on some entertaining fights between super-humans.
