Exactly, why take a potentially risky fight for no benefit.

This article plagiarized Wikipidea under II (Osterine).

      That is straight plagiarism.

They might have plagiarized some other stuff too.

What choice do they have? Testing dirty twice in one year, and this time for an indisputable drug, is not something you can condone. You have to come down hard on PEDvetkin here.

What Stivern failed a drug test for was nothing like this. He failed a test for the same thing Whyte did, you can get it easilly and it's banned over health risks of taking it.

What Povetkin tested positive for is much harder to get and is used to treat muscle wasting conditions.

Hmmm.... is there an error in the article? At first it states that its Povetkin testing positive and later it says Stiverne?

I assume it's povetkin though. So fck him. If the b-sample is positive, he needs to be handed a life time ban.

One can hope that Stiverne's contract enables him to at least have his expenses covered in a case like this. The right thing for him to do, is to not fight. I'm so sick of cheaters and the sport doesn't need them at all.

The promoter pays the travel expenses, plus in a situation like this a fighter might get some money, I'd think, for their troubles (it's a contract--a settlement type thing).

From a business standpoint, Stiverne would be hoping to now be the #1 in the WBC, without having to have fought for it (this was an eliminator).

His expenses are paid; he may be paid a little; it's still a bummer and a bad situation.

The catch is, he'll make more money for a mandatory shot against Wilder, probably, than he would against Povetkin.

That's the main reason he pulled out, and that's the business of it.

Smart in a way, but the old timers would have been, "we're here to fight, you got our money Mr. Promoter, here I am, let's fight."

That's not the way it works these days though.

It's ironic that Stiverne also tested positive though.

(Oh, energy drink. ROLF. Yeah right.)

And he is trying to ride a high horse.

It's also sad for boxing fans that Wilder and Stiverne both went to Russia, and both fights were canceled.

Povetkin's offenses were actually somewhat mild, as far as doping goes.

But, could be where there's smoke there's fire.

I thought the Russians were suppose to take care to protect their dopers. The fights are even in Russia.

Not very savvy by the promoter. He should've enlisted some Russian Olympics people.

this is a typical way for racist americans and russians to defend the dirty 2 time doping russian cheat..... They now want to blame stiverne for his energy drink and diet pills...

They gave pedvetkin a pass for meldonium and are trying again to give him a pass for this
