I can easily buy him being 180, but 187 was just garbage talk from Khan.Last edited by Robbie Barrett; 12-16-2016, 10:56 AM.

Like I've been saying for years, boxing needs either same day weigh ins or a limit of no more than 5lb between then and fight time.

Against Floyd? Lmao, he fought him at a catchweight of 152 lbs.

lol I'm not buying it, he does not visually look like he comes in there at 180 plus unofficial weights are not always done with fighters stripped down like in official weigh ins as John Molina Jr said. People were blowing smoke about him being 160 on fight night against Provodnikov but he revealed he weighed in fully clothed with phones and keys in his pockets.
I'm always going to go by who can make the weight the night before, unless same day weigh-ins get brought back then there's no way of knowing who is really able to fight at what weight.

Alvarez turned around and fought a hard 12 round fight against Miguel Cotto with little waver.
A general rule of thumb that seems to turn out pretty consistent, imo, is that the typical fighter can boil off 10-15lbs to make weight, and still perform well on fight night. Much beyond that and the fighter 1)doesn't end up making the weight or 2)turns up dead in the ring on fight night.
The fact that you are now trying to argue that Saul Alvarez was able to not only boil off 25lbs to make weight, but also that stripping off that much weight from his frame had no impact on his performance on fight night makes you look like an idiot.

So don't come here with that 10/15 pounds rule.
I don't think he gained weight to 180 after weigh in, but just wanted to post the opinion of the guy who actually works in boxing, and was shocked to see Canelo's transformation. He claimed he looked so huge compared to the day before that 180 didn't seem unreasonable. He's not affirming anything.

Canelo has one of those naturally wider builds, those guys store more water IMO.
You can just see when he cuts how much smaller he looks.
I have no doubt he adds 20 lbs over night, and 25 wouldn't surprise me one bit. With the use of diuretics and IVs, these fighters are doing insane weight cuts these days.
