It's not that dude. It's that Crawford is "New Money" and acts like it. White millionaires get caught breaking the law, they are usually remorseful, or know how to act remorseful. While in court, call the judge "Sir" and "your honor" and act like you know you ****ed up, and will never do it again, and be a good citizen if they give you a second chance.

It's the same with cops. It's not right, but they, like judges, will react not just to the law, but to respect, to people's attitudes. And you can bet Crawford gave the judge the "I'm a star I'm better than you I'm above all this I can do what I want" attitude, just like Adrien Broner missed his court date entirely. When do you see George Zimmerman pulling **** like that? He may be a scumbag but at least he's smart enough to know how to behave in court.

And hey, it's wrong. Judges are supposed to judge the facts, not people's attitudes. But I guess they care whether you're remorseful or not because that's all they have to judge whether you will break the law again or not. If you're not remorseful, then they go "well I guess he still hasn't learned his lesson and thinks he can still break the law, so if facing jail isn't enough for him to learn, I guess he needs to spend some time there too."

Fair or not, that's what it is. It's not racial. So many black NFL players have avoided jail for domestic violence and all that because no matter how crazy they act in real life, they hire lawyers who train them to wear a nice suit and say "yes sir no sir" in court. Crawford it sounds like acted like he was above the law, and the judge decided to prove he wasn't. If he was made an example, that's unfair, but maybe the judge just wanted to show him he's not above the law. I still hope the sentence is greatly reduced maybe to 1 day, but just saying, I don't believe this has anything to do with race.

That's rough. From the way the judge spoke about acting above the law, I wonder if he missed some days in Court or something that made the judge angry.

whether or not TC had priors is easily researchable...

he gonna end serving around 53 days.

we can whine all day about the inequities of the US justice system, but nothing changes the fact that Crawford went above the law and damaged someone else's property. doesn't seem as if he helped his cause with his perceived behavior either.

Our justice system is funny, in California something like this wouldnt even reach a judge. Other states you do time for property damage...

Anyway, I read the judge was mad because he felt Crawford wasn't honest.
Unless a agreement was reached the Judge has to right to sentence a person to the fullest extent of the law..

WTF. Is that judge a ****in lunatic. Budwas no doubt was getting ****ed over by the mechanic - isn't that what all mechanics do!! All he did was take no **** from him and he gets 90 days. FFS. Does the judge not know the charity work and all that stuff that Crawford does for his local community and around the world. What a ****ed up country the US is.

Does this mean that Crawford got more jail time than Broner? lol I forget

Whatever, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but hopefully Crawford doesn't make a habit out of it. Would be a dam shame if he ruined his career over some dumb schit.

Surprised by this news. He must have ****ty lawyers. This screamed fine, some community service + suspended sentence worse case to me & with him being the black George Clooney of Nebraska I felt like that wasn't very likely.
