Golovkin isn't avoiding Canelo by fighting Chavez. Canelo is avoiding Golovkin by fighting Chavez. What's confusing about this? Would a diagram help?

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has already made it clear that he places far more importance on taking on the fights that he wants on his terms over any concerns about "belts".
If this May PPV happens on Alvarez's terms (giving the concession on the weight needed to make it possible, financial terms being what they are) and the "Mexican versus Mexican, on Mexican American's biggest holiday" PPV delivers as expected, there will be no waver in the offer for September.
If Golovkin doesn't want to take the money, Miguel Cotto (hopefully fresh off of a big win against a sharp James Kirkland) is more than likely to be willing to take the rematch for that $10m +PPV share already offered.
Heck, with Alvarez simply being in a position where he's solely looking to make the biggest fight possible, the September PPV date could end up being Alvarez versus Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (with Ramirez defending his belt, and the two fighters working on the weight).

If Canelo's excuse is the 160 limit when facing GGG,
why is a 168 limit no problem to face Junior? Junior isn't making 160 ever! The guy should be at 175 but without a weight advantage he can't beat any decent guy who will fight back.
This is all about Oscar waiting for GGG to get that much older just like Floyd did to him and Shane. It's now been a year and half and come Sept. two years and then it will be on.
Canelo will have his shot because Golovkin has gotten older,
you can see it in his legs which will effect balance for punching and taking a good shot. To hurt this guy you need to land combination and the ones he doesn't see can and will do damage. Problem is if he lands a good one on Canelo can he take it? That's the intrigue for me!
