Comments Thread For: WBC's New Rule - Fighter's Father Can NOT Be Chief Second

The workaround is too easy, make the father the cut man or second corner man, bring another trainer to be lead corner man.
In Danny Garcia's case, his brother is always the second corner man at his fights, make him chief and problem is solved.Comment

Mmm. I'd like a look at that study also, and for the exact same reasons. If the study is well designed it should acknowledge it's own limitations in scope and accuracy. You got that study? I can't believe the sample size would be big enough to make that study credible. I'm not saying I don't believe you I'm just saying I don't think there are enough father/son partnerships to make the study credible. I'm sure they included amateur too. I just want to look at the sample size of the study and a cpl other thingsComment

AS THE LEAD CORNERMAN!!!!!!!! THE RULE CLEARLY STATES THAT!!! Going by the letter of the law the father can not be the head corner man. I've also said the rule is unenforceable. You are really, really, ******Comment

It doesn't matter if the father is the guy standing in front of the fighter between rounds or not. The father can be ring side and still give instructions between rounds. And you say they could fine him after the fight for doing so. Which is ****** because nothing in the rule (which was not even published yet) states that the father cannot talk between rounds to his son.

Thats the whole point. Angel Garcia, as crazy as he is, knows how to adjust extremely well and knows exactly what to tell DSG.
Its a ****** ruling and if I was DSG I would just vacate the title.Comment
