Floyd was a G For FIghting Maidana a second time

Floyd could have easily found a way out and avoided a tough fight.

Just a highlight worth mentioning in light of the recent news Ward will most likely avoid the rematch with Kovalev.

Also worth considering when evaluating HOF inductees...

That's a mark of a great champion, when people doubt a decision u won u get right back in there and prove that the first time wasn't a fluke. Can't run away with a "win" where more than 70% of the people who watched the fight live though you lost. I lost respect for fighters that didn't give their opponents rematches over the years most recently Danny Garcia (Mauricio Herrera) and if Ward doesn't give Kovalev the rematch that he truly deserves then he's gonna join that list too for me.

I didn't think he would rematch him
Though it would have been an asterisk in his career in some fans eyes if he didn't
It still surprises me that people think maidana won more than 3 or 4 rounds in the first fight

That's how it should be. When a fights really close and an either way fight, give them an immediate rematch.

        Same way with Castillo.

Ward should do the same with Kovalev. It would be a shame if he didn't.

Good post I agree fully , the average dont give Floyd any credit at all even though he did what a real champion does they will still try and take that away .

Yeah Ward better give Kov a rematch there will be a lot of flack if he doesnt from all sides .

Ward isn't the only side responsible for making sure the rematch happens. Shouldn't HBO and Main Events also be held accountable.......

Wards going to fight Kovalev again. Who else is out there besides Stevonson? Fighting Stevonson is the only other fight that is acceptable.

Haymon and Roc Nation would never work together so I seriously doubt the possibility of Ward vs Stevenson happening anytime soon, I don't think HBO has the budget to overpay Ward to fight someone nobody is interested in seeing him fight either so I think the fight that would make the most sense would be the rematch against Kovalev, Ward deserves a bit more than what he got in his last fight but not soo much more since it was a very close fight, hopefully none of the teams throw blocks in the way of that rematch because it's absolutely necessary.

Yet somehow you people ridicule Pac for having rematches against tough fighters and call him a rematch king even though the rematch happened because it was not enough or not the final conclusion. 3 super close fights against Marquez, he could have ducked him and went on the win, but no, he gave Marquez a last chance that actually put him to sleep. Controversy against Bradley? Rematch, beat him second in the second fight, third time against a newly improved bradley who just TKO'ed Rios, yet you don't like it for some reason.
