Bleh I could live with that fight not happening. Stevenson is a joke and Haymon/Jay-Z don't get along so... It's a long shot. Think of it as a Schaefer/Arum type relationship.

He's playing hardball with Kathy Duva. Just like the last interview that was posted on here. Everybody jumped on Ward for saying the rematch has to make sense but they left out the part where he said Duva has to realize she isn't the A-side in this fight. He's trolling Kathy Duva

I am not a Ward fan but I don't think he should be called a coward for retiring as a world champion. He has been fighting since he was a kid and he is 32 years old. He has faced a bunch of good and dangerous fighters including the very dangerous Kovalev I am sure he has more than enough money to retire and live comfortably for the rest of his life. He has made many millions in the ring and he is smart enough to invest it and not spend it all. As a GGG fan it annoys me that haters call him a coward because he isn't a coward and neither is Ward. Both of these men have had hundreds of pro and amateur fights and their courage is beyond question.

Lol. And you know if he retires he wont stay retired. Ward is not as smart as he likes to pretend he is. Plus this will work out great because he can copy another thing from Mayweather.

As far as his legacy I actually agree with him. This is probably his best move. He has a great personality, fought a long time without long term damage, he has a lot of other options.

Retire you fool, Sergey will get things back in charge. THE REAL LHW Champ.

And fuck all these ward supporting clowns on here.

Ward knows exactly that he cant beat Kovalev in a fair fight without corruption. Next time he wont get another gift. Same as Pac Bradley 1, just that Bradley is a real man/fighter while Ward is a little disgusting pussy of a man.

If he continues to box and doesn't rematch Kovalev next that would be a chicken thing to do. If he chooses to retire now he has every right to do so without being called a coward. Many boxers stay too long and end up with brain damage. I think he will rematch Kovalev next and make a few more millions. If he retires Kovalev will be knocking guys out and winning his vacant world titles back.

If he's seriously considering retiring now he should just retire cuz boxing isn't a sport you should be competing in with one foot out the door.

That said he isn't done fighting I feel confident in that despite whatever he's saying now (legit or f#cking with the media, Roc Nation, Duva or HBO). Boxers retiring or talking retirement at a certain point in their career & still fighting or fighting again is damn near a marketing angle these days.
