It be great for him to retire on top

But fans would be very dissapointed in him especially after the KOvalev fight which was very close could of gone either way, he got dropped and didnt look invicible, i feel he has to rematch KOvalev if he doesnt we can assume he doesnt feel so sure on a rematch

He can celebrate how he wants he knows himself more than anybody, but from my view i dont see his victory over KOvalev so great as far as him winning decisive i dont think he did, KOvalev deserves hes rematch Ward!!!!

If you follow Ward's interviews you know that he's been talking like this for a while, long before Kovalev was even in the picture.

I don't think his heart is into boxing anymore. Which means that it's probably a good idea to walk away. This sport is too dangerous to engage in half heartedly.

If he doesn't give Kovalev the rematch, then his legacy is tainted for sure. If he doesn't need the money, it's understandable, although I don't think he's made a tremendous amount in his career, but then maybe he lives a modest life style. But yes, he'll be forever stamped coward. Of course, talk if cheap. In a few months, we should know what's going down.

Ward never gave a shit!... Each time things were not going his way, he said he would retire... in fact, he already was "semi-retired"... He may accept to go in court or stay "semi-retired" (again) -- until Kovalev loses patience and takes another fight...

This is nothing new from Ward, and would anyone actually lose sleep over his retirement, other than Kovalev?

He's probably lost his desire to fight after not fighting much for the past 5 years.

I think he will retire soon, but I also think this would be more about creating an urgency to see him fight because he won't be around much longer. 2 or 3 fights will probably be it.

If you know and understand boxing, you'll see that he's frustrated more than anything else.Retire? He's been on the shelf for the best part of three years. He needs to fight and really beat Kovalev in a rematch and then he can bail. But not before.

Kovalev will learn what it is to not be the "A" side anymore... Not easy... He'll learn that "wanting" a fight is not enough and that politics are strong in the business... He'll also learn that his Promotion team sucks and that Duva is the least skilled Promoter in boxing ... BTW Stevenson will still be there for him next summer ...

                      Froch
                      Dawson
                      Kovalev
                      Abraham
                      Kessler
                      Green
                      Miranda

Not to mention fans are hating him after the biggest win of his career even though he's had minimal fights in the last 3 years

I don't blame him from being upset from all the criticism even though many people knew it would happen based off history.

That said, Ward shouldn't retire, but if he were too, he'd go down as a HOF'er and one of the best of his generation
