protest by not watching it? well ward/kovalev already flopped..if that's not a protest of PPV i dont know what is.. two undefeated prime boxers clashing for three belts.. and it was a disaster.. you can't protest louder than that.. if people arent gonna pay to watch the best face the best, then people are not paying for a damn thing.

True. But if the baseline can be re-established, fans will recognize and appreciate a super-fight like Kovalev-Ward. And they will pay for it. I caught Hagler-Hearns for $10 on a close-circuit B&W video feed at an ice hockey area.

Currently the casual fan has no idea about who should be fighting who for supremacy in any weight division. They're more in tune about some WorldStar feed concerning a fighter slapping out a wife/whore because the bulk of the current match ups are useless infomercials with zero value.

An educated fan base would force networks and promoters to create meaningful fights. Broner vs a stiff on PBC with pyro-technic entrances on CBS wouldn't cut it anymore. Mayweather-Pacquiao II PPV would be considered a farce, a money grab and insult to discerning fans.
