Was Crawford at fault for not getting the Pac fight?

lol:AOR: I know thats right. I *** around a lot but when its time to talk boxing its time to talk boxing. Steven A and Skip Bayless always have different opinions and argue. But i bet at the end of the day they sat and had a beer or two together.
Some of these ******s ii wouldnt waste piss on if they were on fire.Comment

and Yes...If Crawford would have fought Postal like a ****er and not showed any slick moves clinches and running. (hense the reason the CROWD boo'd three rounds in the fight) He may have been in the ring with Manny in his next fight.
Why would Team Manny want to fight that boring style of fighter and risk losing a decision to the judges with a fighter who can only draw a crowd in his home town... its hard to dominate a fighter for 12 rounds if you have to chase him. He can make you look bad. Why risk it.
Toe to toe Manny will beat Crawford badly for 12 rounds. If Crawford fought that sacred (or cautious) with Postal...How would he fight Manny lol.Pac Boy and I are making the same point just getting there differently. There is no reason for Bob/manny to risk fighting TC at this stage of his career, especially before the floyd rematch because too much could be lost.lol:AOR: I know thats right. this isn't about ducking or cherrypicking. its realizing that the rematch is already a tough sell because of the 1st fight and all the subsequent BS.
The rematch is viable if casuals believe Manny has a chance. A loss or poor performance against TC could put the rematch in jeopardy.
The fight was garbage, I despise Bob and am not a fan of Manny but in choosing to fight Vargas they made the best long term decision.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 12-07-2016, 12:23 PM.Comment

Its really all up to Arum and how he wants to play probably. I dont think He wants to put Crawford is could be future cash cow in with Manny. A loss can make look Manny look old faster. Manny still looks good and can cash out some fights for Arum. If i were Arum i wouldnt throw either to the wolves...YET. All this Crawford is scared and Manny is scared is bullshlt. Manny will fight anyone. Crawford will too. He may fight him carefully in which can create openings for Manny as well as fighting toe to toe which can also create trouble. I think if Arum and Al are gonna work together...which PBC is dying out or has...Manny will fight some of Al's guys. Not Arums.Comment

This isn't really about cherry picking or ducking. The rematch is always viable and a big reason why Vargas is picked. But the statement of Crawford is also a reason why he wasn't been able to get the Pacquiao fight. There is no purpose for the rematch of the Floyd fight because the world already saw the match as a stinker.Pac Boy and I are making the same point just getting there differently. There is no reason for Bob/manny to risk fighting TC at this stage of his career, especially before the floyd rematch because too much could be lost.

I may despise Bob and am not a fan of Manny but this is a perfectly sensible reason for fighting Vargas.Comment

I agree and disagree. I myself along with the rest of the world did see the fight as a stinker. Dud! Possible fixed fight gone bad. Maybe his arm was hurt. Maybe it wasnt. Maybe the pay off was in. Floyd won the fight from what i saw. I also saw that the Manny Pacquaio i saw was NOT the Manny ive EVER seen. And it wasnt because Floyd was doing anything amazing. He himself looked like shlt in that fight and his own dad told him he was fighting scared. Meaning Floyd could have been more aggressive. And Manny could as well. We can spin it all kinds of ways and believe what we want. But as a rematch goes. They can still sell it. And IMO still be the biggest money fight out there for boxing. So there is a purpose for it. There are millions of reasons why. This isn't really about cherry picking or ducking. The rematch is always viable and a big reason why Vargas is picked. Vargas was a good pic. And it was a pretty good fight. The best pic for them. He earned his belts and defended them against one of the best fighters ever. Now they have a bargaining chip to offer. I see Manny fighting some Haymon guys Crawford fighting some in house Arum guys...IF Floyd dont come back...Crawford and Manny may meet later down the road as a catapult for Crawfords career. If he keeps winning!Comment

I agree with your assessment of Vargas but I disagree with the Floyd. I just don't know they can sell it. I could be wrong and they could still sell 1.5-2 mil PPV, but i just don't think it is realistic especially how the first fight goes.I agree and disagree. Im not sure the can break records. It sure will lack the excitement of the first build up. Hell even the first fight lacked excitement in a build up and still did crazy numbers. And they got paid ****** money. So many mixed feelings on the fight. But one we all can agree on...The fight ****** a bag of dlcks! SO maybe...the can market a rematch and make it more intriguing.Comment

"140 or duck" That's what he said. Manny on numerous interviews said that he is going to fight Crawford, and was already negotiating with Arum on the date, but then the "140 or duck" comes in after he fought a luckluster fight of Postol. Then Pacquiao replied by "Naaa I'll take Vargas, get that 140 or duck to somewhere else." Because he wanted the fight at 147.
So whose at fault here?
This thread has Manny saying No problem with fighting Crawford at 140. Now that you see this, you still think Crawford is the reason the fight didn't happen?Comment
