Comments Thread For: Joe Smith Jr.: I'll Finish Off What Kovalev Started, KO Hopkins

NEW YORK Joe Smith sat stone-faced at a table Tuesday afternoon, patiently listening to everything and anything a verbose Bernard Hopkins said during their hour-long meeting with reporters in Manhattan.

Bernard's last big win was Pascal in 2011 and before that Pavlik in 2008. Hopkins is a Hall of Famer but lets not act like he's beaten anyone of note lately.

How ironic would it be that Hopkins goes out on 2 straight beat downs by white men?

My only question to B-Hop would be...why??? This fight is totally unecessary, and very egotistical! I love my brother B-Hop, but I don't support this fight! I would say this to Floyd, Manny, Cotto, and Juan Manuel Marquez too: Your time has come and gone! You have contributed much to the legacy of the sport, but at this point, you can do nothing but destroy what you fought so hard to build. RETIRE!

Big Ego Mr Smith Jr. ... You should have been down and sleeping early in the Fonfara fight. Yet you pulled a rabbit from your hat and got that one... Kudos on that one ! What else is there worth mentioning in your resume ? I see nothing...

Sad to say: GO GET HIM BERNARD !
