Yeah but Rahman has also got KTFO by Lewis which is the real indication of where Rahman is at talent wise...and Lewis may be old and out of shape now but Vitali wanted a rematch with Lewis as soon as his eye had healed and that would have been a great fight.Originally posted by UnderControl-Lewis is way too old now and out of shape. Besides, Rahman once fought an under-prepared Lewis just like Klitschko, but he won by knockout while Klitschko lost by TKO.Comment

i admit that rahman sucks, but that combo that knocked him out was sick. vitali would have been on his big ***** ass from that shot as well.Originally posted by spinalYeah but Rahman has also got KTFO by Lewis which is the real indication of where Rahman is at talent wise...and Lewis may be old and out of shape now but Vitali wanted a rematch with Lewis as soon as his eye had healed and that would have been a great fight.Comment

For people to say that Lewis won because he cut Vitali's face up so much doesnt make sense to me. If you look at Hatton's face after the Maussa fight would you of said Maussa won because Hattons was so cut up...nah, because some people cut easier than others and the fact you get cut badly doesnt mean that you cant win a fight and it doesnt mean that Lewis was beating Vitali.Originally posted by blockheadwhats really funny is that in order for vitali to be outboxing lewis, lennox's face should have been torn off. the damage that lennox did to klitoris's face negates any earlier success that vitali had.Comment

**** man that combo woulda knocked most heavyweights out, not just Rahman or Vitali...but saying that Vitali took some big uppercuts from Lennox and didnt budge.Originally posted by blockheadi admit that rahman sucks, but that combo that knocked him out was sick. vitali would have been on his big ***** ass from that shot as well.Comment

First of all, I don't know if it's confirmed how (punch or butt) and when Hatton was cut, but it wasn't anything like the multiple cuts Vitali received.Originally posted by spinalFor people to say that Lewis won because he cut Vitali's face up so much doesnt make sense to me. The cut that caused the stoppage was absoutely grotesque, and was NOWHERE near the cuts Hatton had. That's a brutal example.
The bottom line is that Vitali's face suffered 6 seperate cuts for 80+ stitches, and he was stopped on what is the very definition of a technical knock out.
So in the end, regardless of what you do or don't understand, it's quite simple.
The fight was stopped after 6 rounds and Vitalis LOST via TKO.

You have a good point. Hatton could have been stopped on his cut with Maussa and even though Hatton was winning quite easily on paper it would be a TKO loss.Originally posted by spinalFor people to say that Lewis won because he cut Vitali's face up so much doesnt make sense to me. For example. If Hatton floors Calzone 5 times tonight but gets stopped on a cut would anyone taint the victory for Calzone? ( or whatever his name is )Comment

Like I said, some people cut easier than others. There have been numerous examples where a fighter has been cut badly and that fighter has been told by the ref that he will be given one more round before the fight is stopped because the cut is so bad, and then the cut fighter goes on to knock out his opponent before the round is over. Just because you cut your opponent badly that does not make you the superior boxer and does not mean you are winning the fight.Originally posted by Bozo_no noFirst of all, I don't know if it's confirmed how (punch or butt) and when Hatton was cut, but it wasn't anything like the multiple cuts Vitali received.

It's not a good point at all because it's horrible example.
First off, Hatton cuts all the time. Vitali to my knowlege has never been cut beofre or since that fight.
2nd, Hatton was dominating and outclassing Maussa. Vitali caught Lewis off gaurd early, and then stood toe to tow with him for every round after eating punches to give punches.
3rd, the punches he ate lead to a severe beating to his face. It wasn't like they were incidental cuts. They were the result of Lewis ladning 50% of his power punches.
Vitali did well early, but he lost because his plan to take shots to give shots with a bigger puncher was ill advised and flawed.
He lost by TKO to the true definition of the term.Last edited by Bozo_no no; 05-13-2006, 02:36 PM.Comment
