I'd say the Kovalev-Ward rematch is probably the most important fight in boxing, for its credibility, and the history of the sport. By far it's not the biggest financial fight, but it's the most important right now.
Trouble is the odds of it being the same sort of fight and another robbery ?

The rematch clause only excludes Oakland and Russia as possible venues, but you know it would be in the US with US judges again, so all the bricks in place for the same thing to happen again.

Next fight I look up the result to see if its another robbery first - not even going to watch it, then if it sounds like someone won fairly, then I'll watch it later. Got no interest in watching another robbery, and haven't re-watched the first one and never will.

Our P4P master Ward continues to have never fought further away from home than Atlantic City (excluding a couple of early fights in the Caribbean, nice, why not). Wish my football team could play all their games at home - we would be the best in the world.

(edit. I quite like that idea. Chelsea score 1 in the first half, but second half we shut them down and final score 1-0. But 3 Manchester judges could award the game and points to Utd on the basis of how we shut them down and dominated the second half. We would never lose again)

      sounds highly " objective ", huh ?

It may or may not happen. Ward is not exactly going to continue with 5 million paydays against anyone else. I don't even see another PPV for them if they rematch.

So, all of Ward's amateur fights..... you know, the fights where he hasn't lost since he was 12yo, all the way up to winning a gold medal at the olympics..... they were all home-cooking?

and all of his pro fights..... they were home-cooking as well?

Make the rematch happen...it'll just be for less money

I think Ward made $5 mil and Kov $2 mil in the first fight. The second fight can be Ward $3 mil and Kov $1.5 mil approximately. Still great money for a 2 fight series for both fighters. Get it done people and it's a shame so called boxing fans didn't support this fight more.
