GGG vs Brook. Who was the PPV draw?

To me, that's a dumb question, because it takes TWO fighters to make a fight. But it keeps getting asked here, and certain people keep peddling the same lie as an answer - that Kel Brook was a major draw on Sky PPV and could have sold over 500k PPV tickets against anybody.

I'm a fan of Brook and I'm not starting this thread to mock or discredit him. But before he fought GGG, Kel was definitely NOT a big PPV attraction in the UK.

Before GGG, Brook fought on one Sky PPV show, against Frankie Gavin, when he shared the bill with Anthony Joshua vs Kevin Johnson, and that show did 139k PPV buys, compared to over 500k for Brook vs GGG.

Brook was the headliner, GGG was the opponent. Much like how Mayweather was the headliner and Canelo was the opponent. Doesn't make a GGG PPV draw in the UK by himself but he helped sell the fight in general.

Rubbish. GGG was the defending 3 belt champ and Kel was a replacement opponent for Eubank Jnr.

And btw, no boxer can be a PPV draw by himself, not even Mayweather. They all need an opponent, or there isn't going to be a fight.

It's obvious it was a big fight because of both. Don't listen to the fools, you know how they are.

It was on PPV in the UK. Can GGG fight anyone on PPV in the UK? He needed Brook or Eubank in order for it to be a PPV fight.

I know it doesn't fit you agenda (Brook is black and g string is white) but biggest reason the fight did well is because of what Brook brought to the table.

                Brook was the draw.

The fight wasn't in Kazakhstan....or Germany.

We're talking about a fight between a Brit and a Kazhak in the UK. Don't pollute the discussion with ******ed American race talk.
