For sure! That made the fight 100x easier. Only casual fans ignore what proper trainers can do. Another one is Maidana Pre/Post Robert Garcia. And good trainers can also be very bad for certain fighters. Like Roach with Khan. Khan should of been using Emanuel Steward instead.

I really doubt that they want pay GGG 75% of the bid. That is pretty much what K2 would want since they can't provide GGG with a bigger purse. It was Hearn that payed GGG that $5 mil and it will be GB that will be paying him his biggest purse if the fight gets made. K2 can't afford to pay GGG and any other good opponent for a fight. Big reason why GGG can't get any big fights while K2 is cutting the checks, they only want to pay fighters around 500-600 thousand per fight. Jacobs could always challenge Canelo or Saunders or just move up to 168....or Jacobs would've kept his belt, and DiBella/Espinoza would've used the bid procedure to bring a Golovkin fight to Showtime, leaving Loeffler with a decision to make.
Why everyone seems so convinced that Jacobs would simply give up the belt is beyond me; where else is there for Jacobs to go, without a belt around his waist?Comment

he replied to a leading question
that is not calling out Jacobs, or trying to make the fight
they have shown no interest whatsoever in Jacobs, and the only reason why they are currently in discussion is because the WBA forced the mandatoryComment

Posters on here say Golovkin is carefully managed. There may be some truth in that. I'd say Canelo is far more carefully managed.
He is not going to be put in with any dangerous MW and earn $10 million when he can be put in with Goolovkin and earn $40 million. So that rules out Jacobs for sure. Lemieux too. And probably Saunders although Saunders could win a 12 rounder 8-4 in Vegas or Texas and he's not getting a decision.
I'd expect him to go in with Wade, Rosario or someone on that level in May and then GGG in September , if at all.
I don't agree with that at all.
When Canelo moves to middleweight he will fight all of those guys.
Canelo fought the 4 best JMW's on the planet CONSECUTIVELY, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that he would/should avoid Jacobs.
I think he will fight those guys before Golovkin will, especially Saunders.
I used to call GGG well-managed, now I call him protected.
He is clearly taking the easiest possible fights.
Lemieux was not a threat, Canelo would smash him.Comment

right, because..... Tom, promising to make the Jacobs fight a year ago when asked a leading question..... but then ignoring Jacobs and fighting Wade/Brook..... somehow proves you correct?

Where do you get 1 from? You misunderstood, Team Jacobs appealed to the Wba to change the standard percentage if it goes to purse bids. Nothing to do with team Ggg, who've already offered way more to Jacobs even before the mando was ordered, see famous "2 Quillins" quoteComment
