the only way for GGG to be challenged is to leave the MW division. i don't see Jacobs surviving five rounds. i may give GGG a bunch of **** about quality names on his resume, but i know full well what would happen if these names ever stepped foot in the ring with him..at 160. GGG needs to drop to whatever weight Canelo demands (maybe 158?) or just move to SMW and take on Jack/DeGale winner. i don't see nothing wrong with trying to capture all the belts because in this era of so many damn champions that would actually be a tremendous feat. i just don't think it's doable with fighters allowed to slither in other directions when it's time to face him. and time is not on his side, before you know it he's 40 and that's it..career done.

I don't care if he stays at 160..... but he should fight Saunders/Jacobs, no question.

The 1.5mil they offered Saunders is a joke, and it doesn't look like they want the Jacobs fight..... so you could be right, but Golovkin himself publicly stated that he has no intention of moving up.

I just want him to fight someone with a pulse, surely they can hear what people are saying.

I suspect that could be right, but I want to know why Team Bullshht have passed on so many opponents who are much better than the guys Golovkin ended up fighting.

I think that Saunders/Jacobs are a good start, and there is no reason whatsoever why those fights shouldn't happen.

yea, that is the obvious fight at 168

if the move is permanent, then 1-2 lesser fights would be understandable, but..... the clock is ticking

Oh, and WE, Golovkin fans, also been asking for that fight to happen: click to open thread

What happened to the WBA? they said if no GGG-Canelo they would order GGG-Jacobs

It was your boy Jacobs who said:

"I'm not ready for GGG, I need 12-18 months"
"GGG is the best of my generation, will fight him when money is right"
"I can fight two quillins for that money, that's not fair money" when rejecting a 1.7 million dollars offer according to Motorcity Cobra.
"I have a date to come back in december" one month later "oh no december is too soon, I need 10-12 weeks of preparation".. LMAO
INB4 but but but anyone from 154-168 doeeeeee... I know you so much lol.

Tom Loeffler on Gennady Golovkin vs. Danny Jacobs in NYC

The idea of matching IBF/WBA middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin against Danny Jacobs may not seem so far-fetched anymore.

After making the fight with Al Haymon-advised Dominic Wade and Golovkin for April 23 on HBO, K2 Promotions Mmanaging Director Tom Loeffler spoke of a day when he has to deal with another Haymon-guided fighter in Brooklyn’s Jacobs, who is coming off a stunning first-round stoppage of Peter Quillin in December.

Golovkin-Jacobs in New York, from where Jacobs hails and where Golovkin has a strong fan base? Loeffler allowed himself to dream a little on Wednesday.

“Being able to make this fight with Wade, if (Golovkin is) successful, then certainly a fight with Danny Jacobs, who is clearly at the top also of the middleweight division – he had a very impressive knockout of Peter Quillin,” Loeffler told ******.com. “And Gennady being able to sell out (Madison Square Garden) in his last fight – you can only imagine how big a fight between Gennady and Jacobs would be in New York. That would be a monster fight in the New York area. From our side, there wouldn’t be any obstacles to making that fight.”

I like Jacobs, but if I were Loeffler, I would have forced the purse bid a long time ago! By now Jacobs would've signed, or vacated! Saunders is the target! If Canelo gets to Saunders first, and gets that belt, the $10 million dollar offer might go to $8 million!
