So basically, loma offered an amount, and walters sat out till he got more, and then he got more and they fought...

Hardly a case for being blackballed

u're refusing to address the fact loma isnt some A side to walters..being undervalued by your promoter and fighting against him will get you black balled..that is the part of the sport that needs to go..PROMOTERS NEED TO STOP WINNING..fans like myself and yourself should voice ourselves..instead u want to b1tch and fight against me for asking for fair deals for fights

that guy is a airhead its common knowledge walters ****ed his purse up and the fact that promoters and undercover promoters like al haymon still run boxing is sick in 2016.

there is nothing about loma that made him a 300k more money A side fighter
bob arum came out and said the offer was too low and he agrees..if it's low why not offer both 50-50 upfront purses and letting them fight for who gets promoted more..
bob arm picked a favorite simple as that and he sat the other guy out..

it's right in your damn face
Didn't this fight show you why Loma is worth more money than Walters, in more than one way?

Hence why you get decisions like kovalev ward.
It;s not natural to stick up for something even when it's wrong. That's just ******. Plus Jones is a professional and should act such a way.

In terms of Kov/Ward , I doubt it was racism. It is more to do with the overall corrupt nature of boxing officials in the modern sporting environment, coupled with national bias in this particular case and a crowd that cheered every time Ward landed a single, soft jab yet was silent when Kovalev would land 3 straight power jabs.

We've seen black fighters deserving of a win robbed by the same types of officials in an environment when the house fighter or the one the networks/promoters/managers are hoping to promote more.

and u're doing it providing no facts..and u're arguing against a fan that wants to see the sport better..maybe u're just a fanboy..and if you are that is cool..boxing needs those, but when u see hardcore talk if u dont plan on being hardcore..exclude yourself.

                honestly no...
his record sayS W over walters, but the circumstances say we didnt have the best of nich walters..

he gets his W and has to prove more imo..but walters takes the L and idk where he goes from here..

..this fight proved nothing to me..all it proved to me was that nex time a lay off is a factor i wont try to ignore it just to be positive..I WILL RIP IT FROM START TO FINISH

if u disagree ask yourself would u pick a year laid off loma to be a well oiled loma??
would u pick the year laid off walters to beat the walters coming off the ko of donaire??
                DOUBTFUL IN BOTH CASES

I don't think this is the case at all. Roy tells it like he sees it even if you don't agree with what he has to say. I still think he's one of the best boxing minds in the business. A lot of black fans actually complain when Roy gives praise to eastern European fighters so I guess you can't please everybody! There's always some amount of bias involved, regardless of how objective people claim they are.

Malignaggi shows much more favoritism towards US fighters, especially ones that are pure boxers but I still respect his opinion even if I don't always agree with it. He's usually fairly accurate when it comes to scoring fights unless of course it is an American versus a Russian a la Ward/Kovalev. His assessment of that fight was way off.

He could have easily fought and stayed active, but he wasn't going to fight unless it was a huge sum of money. Nobody was willing to pay him over 500k unless he was fighting a guy like loma..

How the **** is a promoter suppose to get him a fight, when he wants over 500k???? How many fights were available for that price tag?????
I was a fan of Nicholas Walters and regardless of all the flak he's getting and going to continued to get for quitting, I'd still like to see him in the ring again but I have to agree with you, he priced himself out of staying active and he should know as well as anybody that any weight below welter typically doesn't get the kind of attention, fan base or ticket sales that the bigger weights do. There are exceptions of course but most boxing fans aren't as willing to shell out a whole lot of cash for a fight between featherweights, regardless of their skill level or style. I can't say I think that's fair but that's the way it is.
