    What proof do you need that Walter's refused to fight earlier in the year because the money wasn't right? Do you remember the original talks for the Loma/Walters fight? He outright refused the fight because he didn't agree with the purse split!

    Also, using Danny Garcia as an example of a fighter who took a tuneup fight for less money is not relevant at all since all of Garcia's fights since moving up to welterweight have been tuneups! The guy was a unified light welterweight champion and still hasn't fought anyone in the top 10! If the fight with Thurman actually happens next year, Garcia will be due some credibility but until they actually step in the ring, Garcia is the definition of a paper champ at welterweight.

      Yeah, you're right but I would consider guys like that to be exceptions to the rule. If you're an outstanding boxer and compete in one of the lighter weight classes, you can still be very successful and make some serious dough but typically it takes longer to get established and create the precedent for those big purses.
