Drop down to 154 and fight him, take the risk. Can't be scared all your boxing career.

if the fight doesn't happen it affects ggg more than canelo. .nelo is very young, he has another strong decade in him. and no matter how much people hate it, he is officially a JMW as it stands right now. .golovkin is playing the waiting game when he doesn't have that luxury. canelo is in a position to dictate all terms and ggg's side must comply, it's that simple. this is de la hoya (nelo) vs mayweather (ggg) all over again, oscar dictated everything and floyd agreed because he knew beating oscar would launch him onto another level of stardom. .ggg and sanchez need to take that into consideration and stop believing they can dictate anything to canelo. .canelo can dictate weight, gloves, ring size, site, etc whatever the hell he wants because the fact is he doesn't need ggg for a damn thing.

If the fight doesn't happen, Canelo will be fine. He packed a stadium fighting someone no one knew. I would rather GGG take 10 mil and beat another 10 mil out of Canelo than the fight not happen (I'm not saying he should accept 10 mil). Whoop him so bad that he will beg you for a rematch at some point. The potential opportunities from beating Canelo is what will make GGG fights more lucrative in the future. Don't just think about that one fight. Time isn't on his side here and although Canelo won't make more money for any one fight, he can still draw a crowd and make fights with others... Side note: I'm not a fan of all of GGG's negotiations without meaningful fights happening. I get it. You're the A side in some negotiations, but concessions need to be made by everyone. At some point, you have to decide if you want to keep fighting bums with fewer concessions or fight people who will boost your profile while making more concessions. There just always seems to be some reason why fights aren't happening and I'm getting annoyed by it.... Similar frustration with Andrade and Rigo. Make concessions. Make the fight happen to boost your profile..
          This is good

Its easier to move up than to go down..especially since nelo is a tank..he may be stronger at 160

Canelo can fight Miguel Cotto for one.... SMH

This deal structure should be a lot like Mayweather vs Canelo!

                Canelo being Mayweather

                GGG being Canelo!

                Negotiations settled!

It seems you don't understand that GGG is already an A-side fighter against any other fighter in any discussion. Canelo fight is viewed by him as the reward. Even if he beats Canelo, there are no other fights that will earn him more than he is earning already. All other fights are not superfights in terms of money (Ward? 160K buys? Really?), while Canelo is for glory and BIG money. The only fight which GGG would take for whatever money and shot at superstardom would be Mayweather fight, but it doesn't seem realistic.

The flat 10 mil is a non-offer, no boxing expert has said that it is credible. It sounds like a lot to fans, but it's basically what Golovkin can make in two fights normally. Whereas, if the fight makes 100 mil, Canelo now has a 9/1 split, and is making 6 fights worth of money.
9/1 is a ludicous split, any manager representing GGG would be guilty of professional malpractice to accept 10 mil of such a huge pot.

Both fighters should, and easily can, make far more than they would in a normal fight. GGG could agree to take the small side of a 75/25 split, and do far better than 10 mil.

Frankly, Canelo has no where to go but through GGG. He's already damaged his career according to JMM, and Mexican fans will abandon a coward, i.e. Chavez Jr. Therefore GGG has leverage to demand a decent split.

It's not really whether GGG should take short money for the fame (why not fight for a dollar then?) but that no competent manager should or would allow him to do so.
