Bad example to use for this argument.
You should have asked why GGG is ranked so highly, as his resume has a lot of solid names, but no really good ones.
I agree that you shouldn't just go by the eye test - if a dude looks spectacular, but has no stellar competition on his resume.
GGG is really my exception to this rule, as it is a bit of faith to rank him so highly with only solid fighters (but not really good fighters) on his resume.
I do think DSG is shortchanged bc he doesn't always look great. But he gets the wins. I had him as high as ~#8 p4p, before he started the PBC crapfest stage of his career.
But this argument may be moot by Saturday. If he wins I don't see how anyone can deny him a top 10 p4p spot. If he loses, maybe he didn't really belong.Comment

Danny Garcia has the best resume of any fighter under the age of 30
he is not pretty, doesnt score a lot of knockouts, but gets the job done
I have a ton of respect for him. Yes he has won some close fights, like herrera and Peterson but he also has dealt with a variety of styles which will reflect not having shut out performances
Danny hasnt been protected in his career so calling the guy a cherrypicker is a huge disservice to him. he has been in their with more world champions than more lauded fighters like Terrance crawford, Loma, GGG, KOv and Ward.
Thurman is undefeated and holds a major title....once again dANNY will be the underdog....if he beats thurman, he pushes someone out of the pound for pound and takes his rightful placeComment

Yeah if he wins in clear dominant fashion, then yeah.. not a lock but should be considered, and not anything to ***** about if someone has them on their list.. some will still remember the Herrera, Peterson, etc fights and still question him, but the guy is a proven winner and that's all that really mattersComment
