Goes to show you fickle boxing fans are. This was a match up of two of the best fighters and no one paid to see. Show how great of a business Floyd Mayweather is. It takes years to build of fight of great magnitude. Ward vs Kovalev was a great fight.

Boxing needs to go back to 14 rounds anyway, if not 15. The fight was just getting cooking after round 12.

It also needs refs who will penalize clinching, which is illegal precisely because it takes the fight out of the fight. People pay to see a fight. It's the hurt business, so if fighters are allowed to take the fight out of the fight not with skill, but with clinching and fouling, what is the point?

HOW TO FIX BOXING IN FIVE EASY STEPS:

      1. Go back to 15 round fights
      2. Go back to same day weigh-ins so fighters fight in the right divisions and have stamina to actually make high action fights, rather than draining the night before to increase size at the expense of stamina and work rate
      3. Have refs enforce the actual rules of the rulebook so fights get decided with actual fists and skill, not fouls and clinching which is SO SO SO BORING.
      4. Have the best fight the best
      5. Stop having corrupt judges

Do these five things, boxing will back again before you know it. There is plenty of talent out there, but so long as fights are too short, and refs don't enforce the rules, and no one fights each other, great fights never materialize. Even matchups that get made end up disappointing because rules are selectively enforced for the house fighter, and judges rob guys.

that Pacquiao vs gayweather jr fight killed boxing on ppv and boxing in general.the casuals paid 100 for a glorified sparring session they saw that and said *** boxing I'm jumping on this mma thing.

          .
If this fight went past 12 rounds, Ward would've stopped Kovalev; plain and simple.

Ward was getting stronger and Kovalev could no longer grab and hold Ward on the inside as he had done early in the fight.

Ward was attacking Kovalev's body and Kovalev was squirming like a fish out of water to try and shield himself from the attack; he had no answer.

Ward KO via 14th round had the fight went on

Hahahahahaha!! And Reward sucks the big one. Jay Z economics : 5 million sugar daddy fee to And Reward. 750k "Miscellaneous Judging fees" 1.25 million "sanctioning" fees. 1 million "miscellaneous" to NSAC. 750K legal fees including non-disclosure clause on drug test results. 1.25 million to VADA for "private consultation" fees. 4 million purse to Kovalev. 1 million site fee. Total investment = 15 million. Return on investment = $342,232

And Reward's sweet milk dud better be farting rainbows on the rapping camel's tongue and balls in the honeymoom suite for the next 10 years.

For lesser known guys in PPV...they should offer it cheaper...

39.99...49.99 HD ... Numbers would go up.

American boxing fans are the worst. Andre Ward is an Olympic gold medalist but he doesn't get any support from Americans. Hmmm...I wonder why. Meanwhile...every body is on the GGG and Lomachenko hype train. Just like they were on the Pacquaio hype train. LOL

This just in. Andre Ward reported that Jesus Christ told him that he didn't allow this PPV to crack 200K buys.
