I don't think he embarrasses easily so maybe not. But people will jump on him, and rightly so, if he declines a rematch. Much better from a saving-face point of view for the promoter to say it isn't viable.
But we don't know if that is the case - maybe ROC Nation will be happy to pay him another 5 million. I don't see that but who knows.Comment

people need to understand that just because the entire boxing world claims for a fight doesnt mean casuals will actually care, i wasnt expecting 200k for this fight, why is anyone surprissed with those numbers?? a fight itself can increase ppvs but you have to have at least 1 big name...Comment

And boxing slowly continues to swirl down the toilet. To throw salt on the wound, the outcome of the fight wasnt correct either. Boxing is in a bad place folks. With all the pansy fighters and weak promoters sprinkled with corruption, it gonna take some real work to piece this sport back together.Comment

I'm sure $9.99 wasn't hurting people's wallets.
Especially since Pacquiao/Bradley 3 - you know, that fight "nobody asked for" - did three times that.
And no, that's not all Pacquiao. Pacquiao/Vargas did twice the buy of Ward/Kovalev. VARGAS!
Meanwhile, Kell Brook brought in nearly a million fighting Lil G.
Even Glass Khan beat Ward/Kovalev PPV buys 2x after getting put to sleep by Canelo and Khan is absolutely no draw in the US.
Goes to show what people have been saying. Andre Ward, Sergey Kovalev...They're nobodies in today's boxing. Only boxing hardcore know who either of them are.Comment
