that is because he made concessions last time, he only got 5M where he wanted 10M...only got Vegas where he wanted Oakland...so now you know what time it is.

I think both guys fought about as well as they could the first time around. I think early on, the best Ward can do is weather the Kovalev storm, and hope to not either be stopped or fall too far behind. And then begin the process of breaking Kovalev down and outboxing him down the stretch. The biggest adjustment I think Ward can make is to get in the ref's ear during the fight buildup and Kovalev's holding whenever he gets close to him. Ward's biggest advantage is when they're in close. If Kovalev is allowed to simply tie him up everytime he gets close, he'll again be at a huge disadvantage. Because Kovalev is bigger and stronger. If I were Ward, I would have started my campaigning in the postfight interview. And I'd harp on it even in the prefight instructions on fight night. Similar to how Floyd campaigned against Maidana's rough housing leading up to their rematch.

If Kovalev thought Ward was a diva before the first fight wait until he tries to negotiate this second fight.

Ward needs this rematch just as much as Kovalev. He might have gotten a very fortunate decision but the majority of the boxing fans and public saw him get beaten up by the Russian and receive a gift.

I hope the rematch gets made and I will root for Ward again and I expect he will lose again. That said you never know he might get the decision again.

The majority of the boxing fans and public didn't see it like that. But thoseare mere triflin facts. Carry on.

i think this comes as a response to duva saying that the rematch can take place as early as april next year.

a shame he was gifted the decision. that bad decision will have ripple effects for years at 175. instead we have to waste years calling him "the champ" and chasing a rematch instead of moving onto bigger and better fights with stevenson, beterbiev, gvozk etc...hes going to be parading around fighting brands saying he already won and kovalev needs to give him 100 billion dollars

That's why I can't stand this clown for real. HE wanted GGG to jump up and fight his 172 pound ass with no tuneups, he demands millions upon millions and 3 tuneups to fight Kovalev.

Then he comes in there, gets dropped, stinks up the joint with a grappling hugfest, gets outlanded and receives a gift.

Now this clown is talking straight bullschit non-stop. He'll want to pick Kovalev's gloves, take a 75-25 split, fight in Oakland and have the same judges as the first fight; straight biatchmade punk.

What is there to negotiate? It was reported that the terms for the rematch were identical to the first fight. Ward better not pull another Goosen.
