Tonight Stevenson was hitting Fonfara with every power punch he threw and he still could only knock him only once. If Kovalev was hitting Fonfara with those shots it would have been finished in one or 2. ..or 3 punches. Fonfara fought ******. Joe Smith cracked his chin. Let's see how well Fonfara does from here on.

I think both Ward and Kovalev would beat Stevenson. Kovalev by KO and Ward by decision.

Ward has no right hand so fighting a southpaw is tricky for him. He can beat Stevenson though because Stevenson really only does one thing great, and Ward is willing to get in close down and dirty which can keep Stevenson from really using his best weapon.


Would be interesting I think Ward would win but you can't count Stevenson out.

I don't think anyone can survive that left hand once it goes through.. Same goes with Beterbiev with his right hand... The 2 hardest hands in boxing at the moment IMO... Ward would have never got up and/or regroup like he did with Kovalev...

Kovalev was tagging Pascal and didn't knock him out in the second fight. He knocked Ward down too and couldn't finish him. You're overrating his power.

It was the first round though and Fonfara is still a fit, professional fighter. The guy was getting ROCKED! Mauled. He may not have been going down literally after every punch, but he was hurt badly from the first onslaught til Virgil had seen enough. Superman plays no games, once he smells blood, if you can't stop him from brutalizing you, it's a wrap.

There was even a period where Stevenson was wailing on him when he was against the ropes and Fonfara wasn't holding or going down...If he was smart he could have taken a knee, but I realize in the heat of the moment it might have been a difficult move to make .....or even to choose.
