He gets hate because his team writes wolf tickets that are never cashed and he has a fanbase full of people who want to give him credit for fights that never happen,...he himself seems like a good dude but he has never been challengedComment

Ward isn't an ATG yet..... he needs a convincing win over Sergey in the rematch before I consider him for that.Last edited by NaijaD; 11-23-2016, 03:23 PM.Comment

Yea, he might make the HoF but he isn't an ATG. He still has some work to do to achieve that. There are people in his division right now aside from Kovalev that I would give a good shot at beating him. He is a scrappy dude with heart, he is somewhat overated after that. I'll put it this way, put him on the ring with Roy Jones or Bob Foster or Archie Moore. Tell me how those fights go. Andre is a good fighter but he hasn't reached ATG status yet not to say he won't.
Jones had superhuman reflexes and speed...even an accurate, pedigree of a puncher like Toney, could be embarrased by Jones on the right night...There may be a time when retrospectively we look at Ward in the same light as those two, hes got some years ahead after all... But that will be another day. Toney was a lot more menacing than the Krusher imo.
Foster is an interesting proposition. People think Kovalev is a murderous puncher...I beg to differ, he starts pawing and is inactive when he is challenged enough. And his activity rate plummets when his body is worked. Foster was a murderous puncher by comparison. If he went at Ward like he did the heavyweights he fought, it would be tough for Ward to take his punch. that would be an interesting fight if Ward makes it so he does not screw up like he did against the crusher! He got hit with that shot in the second round because he did not see the follow up punch intended by Kovolev after the right jab...Can't do that against guys like Foster.
Ditto for Toney who also was accurate like Kovalev but more sustained in his attack and more varied in his midgame tactics...Toney could also counter you. That would have been a great fight actually, again...Toney beat up guys like Nun who were technically a level like Ward, and if Ward makes the mistake against Toney he pays more than with Kovolev, although the crusher is a good finisher and did a suprisingly good job of trying to finish Ward that round (I had to watch it again to realize this).Comment

he's probably a hall of famer, but unles you're just talking about the 168 lbs divsiion [super weak and young division historically] he is nowhere near an all time great.Comment
